Late last fall we finished up a few outstanding projects at the playground, including new benches and the planting of some trees.

A huge thank you to JBT A&B Process Systems, Lance & Claire Neumann, Hardcore Powdercoat & Cerakote, K&S Landscaping & Excavation, Lang Lumber, and Zvolena Masonry for their generous donations of materials and time to the project!

We had a wonderful 'Grand Opening' yesterday for the kids at Spencer Elementary! While the project is not yet 100% complete, we were able to have the installers correct their workmanship to complete the main structure, and the kids absolutely loved it!

We have an amazing playground, but we aren't finished yet! There are 8 additional swings (the installers installed them incorrectly the first try), the poured-in-place rubber surface, a covered picnic table, benches, and donor sign that will be installed in spring/summer to complete the project.

Once these items are completed in spring/summer we will have a proper Grand Opening with all of our donors and supporters. (It shouldn't be 0 degrees outside, so we will be able to hold a more appropriate celebration)

We live in an amazing community!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you that came out yesterday to help us out with all of the finishing site work in the snow!! Without you we would not have been able to open the playground up for the kids today.

We received good news, but we need your help!! The installation company has finally addressed the issues with their work, and we have gotten the green light on the equipment!

Because of the installation delays, we were forced to delay the poured in place rubber installation (twice). While this is unfortunate, we have a plan in place to allow us to open in the meantime.

We are in need of volunteers on Sunday, November 26th at 11:00 am to help us rake the final chips into place. If we get enough volunteers we will be ready for a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting at 1:30 pm on Monday, November 27th!

SYR has begun hauling rubber mulch back onto the playground, but we need your help!

Please come help us rake on Wednesday (10/11) anytime after 4:30 pm to help us rake the piles of rubber chips! Any help is appreciated, so please bring a rake, snow shovel, or grain shovel (and your muscles)!!
