On behalf of the Committee to Support the
DPHS Project, thank you to the voters of Spencer and East Brookfield for coming out to vote today. I truly feel that approval of this Project will move our school district and towns forward in a very positive direction. Also, thank you to all the members of the Building Committee for their years of hard work to bring this recommendation to the voters of the towns, and we know their work is far from over. I personally want to thank Ann Auger, treasurer of the Committee to Support the DPHS Project, Melinda O'Connor, who has spent countless hours on this site to bring the public information on the details of the project, and to all the sign holders. The enthusiasm shown by all of you, especially the students was contagious! We are all so excited that this Project is now a reality! Thank you to the DPHS School Building Project Committe, SEBRSD School Committee members, Superintendent Haughey, and Spencer and East Brookfield residents for your hard work and dedication to this project.

Thank you to these kids, the current and future DPHS students. They stood out with us, rallied their peers, spread the word to vote, and had a positive attitude and mindset with every engagement. We are proud to know them, teach them, coach them, and love them. They are all truly inspiring and exemplify Prouty Pride!

Reminder: The Worcester Red Sox will be at DPHS for the "Embrace and Promote Education" Event from 1:00-4:00 This afternoon.

Worcester Red Sox President Charles Steinberg will be on hand and bring with him plenty of prizes, and even a chance to check out the World Series Rings from the four Boston Red sox Championship teams (2004, 2007, 2013, and 2018). “The WooSox look forward to visiting the beautiful town of Spencer to promote education, bringing people together, and further immerse in this wonderful community” said WooSox President Dr. Charles A. Steinberg. “We congratulate Ryan Fitzgerald and Durbin Feltman for their heart and spirit, and we hope that they, along with our popular mascots and four Boston Red Sox World Series Rings, will provide some added joyful moments and memories.”

Some information to highlight: the impact of the project on taxes will not take full affect until 2028.

The average increase per resident: $681 in Spencer and $640 in East Brookfield.

We would like to share an informational outline of how the debt will be paid back including timing and the annual average impact on tax rates in both towns. The impact of the project on taxes will not be fully realized until 2028, with the initial increase coming into effect in 2024.
