Summer is getting closer, and we’re getting excited for your arrival on the island 🪶

For many of you, this summer may come with unknowns, anticipation, and possibilities for what the Lord might do.

Whether you're returning staff or this is your very first time at Tapawingo, this summer will be full of community, growth, and learning how to serve with your whole heart. The Lord has a way of meeting people here, in the middle of laughter, in the difficult moments, and in your quiet time with the Lord in His Creation.

Arrive with your heart open and ready to be poured into, ready to pour out, and ready to watch God move in ways bigger than you planned or expected Him to.

We can’t wait to welcome you home for the summer! ♥️

Behind the scenes at Tapawingo right now 🛠️

Now that spring is officially here in the mountains, the crew has been able to get out to the island to finish the Craft Cabin project. We are so thankful for those who have dedicated hours of work to give campers a meaningful Arts & Crafts activity experience this summer.

☀️If you’re stepping into a leadership position this summer, we want you to know that we're excited to walk alongside you in your role. This is where God will start to shape you, and a lot of it will happen in the middle of ordinary moments!

Miss Dio reflected on her summer as a CIT Leader and said this:

“There is something truly beautiful about asking the Lord to take complete control of your life, even when it can be scary! But I can tell you that the reality is that there is so much more joy, trust, contentment, and purpose on the other side of simply saying, 'Yes, Lord, here I am.' Not because everything is perfect, but because we get to experience a perfect and powerful God who is faithful to complete His plan.
That is how I would describe my experience as a CIT Leader: a door to seeing the tenderness of the Lord in His care for each CIT camper. All I can say is that there is no better place to be than in His presence. And Tap is a place where the Lord is moving and working in mighty ways! And it is such an honor to witness His faithfulness on the Island of Joy!"

♥️So, as you head into this summer, be encouraged. Be present to the opportunities where you can be a witness for the Lord and trust that He will meet you in it!

Our position for Waterfront Manager at Tapawingo is still open 🌊

You would help facilitate a safe waterfront on Lake Pleasant by leading lifeguards, overseeing swim programs, and managing all aquatics operations. We’re looking for strong experience in lifeguarding, water safety, swim instruction, and emergency procedures.

🙌We are so excited to announce the arrival of Tapawingo's new Assistant Director, Miss Lydia Schooley!

The Island of Tapawingo has a special place in Lydia’s heart as it has shaped her faith and friendships. Lydia took a step of faith and stepped on the island for the very first time as a counselor. Miss Lydia enjoys watercolor painting, pickleball, and intentional conversations with friends. She has a gift for bringing a presence of peace, depth, and joy wherever she goes.

Tap has deeply impacted my life, and I consider it a great honor to be a part of stewarding a place that I know girls love so dearly. Summer is quickly approaching! During this season when most of the focus in the Tapawingo office is on preparing for summer—planning programs, organizing details, and getting everything ready—Miss Dio has been busy putting together packages for the Tap staff.

Inside each one is a Tap journal and a handwritten note from the team, sent out to the girls who have committed their summers to serving at Tapawingo. Even when Tap staff are scattered around the world during the off-season, they’re still very much on the hearts, minds, and prayers of the Tap team.

Before the campers arrive, before the cabins fill with laughter and worship, these journals and letters are meant to be a quiet reminder: their willingness to serve is already part of the story God is writing at Tap this summer. ♥️
