Our SkillsUSA chapter attended the first SD SkillsUSA Fall FOCUS held at WDT!

The morning was all about building skills for success, as students learned about the SkillsUSA framework and resumes, gaining valuable tools for their future careers.

In the afternoon, the fun kicked in with mini competitions and a sales pitch challenge, where students got to show off their creativity, confidence, and communication skills.

What a week! From June 23–28, our SkillsUSA chapter had the honor of attending the 2025 National Leadership & Skills Conference (NLSC) in Atlanta, GA. Nevaeh Horstmann proudly represented South Dakota in the Welding Sculpture competition, showcasing both creativity and skill at a national level.

Beyond the competition, we had the chance to explore the city and enjoy some of Atlanta’s amazing attractions. It was a great mix of hard work, learning, and fun!

A huge congratulations to Nevaeh for her dedication and effort —we’re so proud to have you represent our state and chapter!
