Do we have volunteers that would be willing to pick up litter for us at the American Colloid plant in Colony (about 40 min from the shelter)? They kindly donate litter to us but we do not have a trailer to haul a pallet or two.

Erika and Crystal, your dedication to our animals is heartwarming and so very appreciated. ❤️ Nick, thank you for walking our adoptable dog, Gus, for the first part of the night before things got a little too loud for our furry friend. 😘 We'll comment with the amount raised soon!

Gus is done with his cone! He is still healing from his extraction but so excited to have toys and treats again. 😍

Crunchy got some litter and has some more on the way! Thank you all so much!
We did try another litter that we will post in the comments that seems to agree with his little paws. A cheaper but durable option. He's an old sweetheart that deserves to be pampered until he moves into his forever home and gets the real spoiled kitty treatment.

And someone commented today how the shelter didn't have that... kitty smell. 😹 We had a laugh that Crunchy was the stinky one and this tofu litter is a miracle litter! Maybe Crunchy should be a new spokescat. 😻

Crunchy has tried some alternative litters...
👎Clay litter cakes his paws...
👎Sawdust or pine litters don't last very long with how much he pees and have pieces too big to filter through litter scoops...
👎Non clumping litters don't absorb enough urine and keep his paws dry...
🔥But tofu litter is amazing! It keeps him smelling fresh, clumps but doesn't stick to his paws, and is easily scoopable!
🎁If you're looking to treat an old man to some tofu cat litter, Crunchy would be thankful! And he would love to show off how nice his fur is after a shave a couple months back. He's feeling good and won't say "no" to a Churu - we have some on hand we'd love for you to share with him.
🧡Crunchy IS available for adoption! His Prednisone is affordable and easy to give daily, he's lovable and easy-going... he just needs to be the only cat. He doesn't like to be picked up or have his paws touched, but he loves pets anywhere else. He is a little crunchy and a lotta cute!

He is still with us. In addition to the chain collar, he did have a perameter/shock collar on - we aren't sure which. We confirmed no microchip. He has some scuffs and scratches that resemble possibly meeting a barbed-wire fence but nothing bad, don't worry! He does have dry skin so we may do some moisturizing tomorrow for him.
We hope this sweet boy is reunited soon!

⚡️Update - Flash was surrendered to us and is now available for adoption. We will get him on the website on/before Monday but here is what we know:
Male, neutered, born 4.18.24, Terrier/Retriever Mix, good with other dogs and kids (just excitable/high energy), likes to destroy stuffed toys, slight separation anxiety, does know basic commands, and is up-to-date on everything except his rabies shot which is scheduled for Wed. He is a sweet boy who will make a wonderful companion!

Male dog picked up on St. Joe last night (5.4.26) at 8:30pm. Appears young, is very friendly! If this is your dog, please contact Animal Control through dispatch at 605.642.1300. Impound fee + city pet tag due.
