We’re getting everything ready for our teacher training and dinner tomorrow night! We can’t wait to welcome new and returning teachers as we gather, connect, and prepare for another great semester.

Did you know you don’t have to speak a second language to teach? We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and provide the training and support you need. And if teaching doesn’t feel like the right fit, there are plenty of other ways to serve! From hospitality and childcare to administration and classroom support, there’s a place for everyone to use their gifts.

We’re excited to see how this team comes together to help create a welcoming and encouraging environment for our students and families. We can’t wait to see you tomorrow! 💚

It’s June ☀️☀️☀️ Which means the start of summer English classes. Join us every Tuesday starting June 9th through July 28th for free English classes in Spartanburg. This summer we will offer morning classes from 9:30-11AM and evening classes 6-7:30PM. Please register before June 9th by texting “summer” to 864-633-3344 or at englishcrossing.org/attend-class.

Whoop whoop! We’re excited to welcome back our awesome childcare volunteers this summer. We couldn’t do it without them 🙌

1. Don’t forget we’re offering free childcare this summer for our evening classes ONLY ‼️

2. We need three more childcare volunteers for summer session. 8 weeks total. Ages 15 and up welcome 🤩 For more information text “childcare” to 864-633-3344.

We ended our spring semester the only way we know how! Good food and lots of laughter. 🤩

We are so proud of all our students for how far they’ve come and the hours they put into learning English. We don’t have any classes in April and May but we’ll be back in June.

Our level 3 students were learning about processes yesterday. One activity they did was follow instructions on building a paper airplane. They also read instructions for washing clothes & baking cookies.

Big impact starts with amazing teachers! 💚
We’re so grateful for our volunteer teachers who pour their hearts into our students! Jack and his wife Katherine are retired Deaf Education teachers. They learned about English Crossing through a friend and emailed us in the fall to learn more. Jack and Katherine now teach Intro to English for Slavic, Spanish, and Swahili speakers. You can walk by their classroom on a Thursday morning and hear laughter at any given time.

We would love to continue morning classes during our summer semester. If interested in teaching on Tuesday mornings in June & July, please email [email protected].
