Congrats brother!!!

It is my pleasure to officially welcome K’wan Brown to the Gaffney Housing Authority family as our new Community Engagement Coordinator!

In this role, K’wan will focus on strengthening our connection with residents, expanding community programming, developing partnerships, and helping connect individuals and families with resources and opportunities that support their success. He will work closely with our residents, staff, community organizations, schools, businesses, and other partners as we continue building strong and thriving communities.

K’wan brings a diverse background in community engagement, youth development, recreation programming, education, coaching, customer service, and partnership development. His experience includes serving as a Team Lead for after-school and youth programs, an educator, basketball coach, and recreation professional. Throughout his career, he has worked extensively with youth and families while coordinating programs, activities, special events, and community partnerships.

K’wan earned his Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Johnson C. Smith University and holds a South Carolina Teacher’s Certification. He is also CPR and First Aid certified. His background in communications, mentoring, program development, and relationship building will be a valuable addition to our team.

Residents will begin seeing K’wan throughout our communities as he gets to know you, learns more about your interests and needs, and begins developing new programs and partnerships. Please take a moment to introduce yourself and help us give him a warm welcome to Gaffney Housing Authority
