It's in the name–Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, or VITA. Volunteers are the backbone of United Way of the Piedmont's VITA program. In 2024, VITA volunteers in our area donated over 172 hours to this important economic mobility program. These volunteers were able to help our community file over 2,000 returns with over $2.8 million in refunds.

They need more volunteers to grow their impact! With a variety of volunteer roles, training, flexible hours, and a chance to connect deeply with the community, VITA is a high-impact, rewarding volunteer experience.
