Join Chapman Cultural Center Outreach Director, Melissa Earley, today at 3pm for our next Facebook Live interview with HUB-BUB Artist-in-Residence, Shuk Han Lui! ๐‹๐ข๐ง๐ค ๐ข๐ง ๐๐ข๐—ผ!

Shuk Han is a multidisciplinary artist who works predominantly in mixed-media paintings and artistโ€™s books.

Her practice takes a meditative focus and explores relationships between drawing, painting, piano, and the use of space. She is the recipient of several research grants and fellowships, including the Don Bachardy Fellowship, the Wilson Center Graduate Research Award, and the Looney Foundation Graduate Fellowship.

Lui earned her MFA in Drawing and Painting from the Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia.

Masimba is an experimental mixed media Artist who's lived and worked in Zimbabwe, Capetown, and Detroit Michigan. His work explores the transformation of indigenous knowledge systems and cultural resistance.

He often juxtaposes cultural objects and symbols with trivia and ephemeral mainstream symbols. In 2015, he represented Zimbabwe at the 56th edition of the Venice Biennale in Italy.

He holds an MFA from the University of Michigan. His work has also been recently collected in the Montreal Museum of Contemporary Art.

Additionally, he is part of other prestigious collections such as the National Gallery of Zimbabwe Permanent collection, George R Nnamdi Collection Detroit USA, Scott White contemporary San Diego USA.
