All proceeds for will go to Help Hope Live in honor of Austin to support his medically related physical therapy & medical treatment expenses. On May 15, 2020, at the age of 16, Austin Somerville of Greenville,
SC sustained a spinal cord injury when he broke his neck in a swimming pool accident. He was immediately paralyzed from his chest down with minimal arm movement. After surgery and 12 days in
the NeuroTrauma ICU at Greenville Memorial, he was transferred to Shepherd Center in Atlanta, GA for their Spinal Cord Injury Inpatient Program. With the help of more than $50,000 received from last year’s Tee It Up for Austin, Austin was able to stay in Beyond Therapy through the end of 2021, a rigorous therapy program designed specifically for spinal cord injuries. In January 2022, Austin began OT, PT, stretch therapy, and intense gym workouts at YMCA in Seneca. Austin has progressed so much since last year‘s tournament, but he urgently needs our help! Austin is at the two year post-injury period, and he needs regenerative medical therapy NOW for him to be able to continue his recovery. The treatment window is closing, and his lifelong physical abilities are at stake. The most effective combination for Austin‘s best recovery at this time is a Regenerative Medicine treatment, followed by four months of intensive, specialized neuro-reengineering therapy. This will cost a minimum of $80,000 and is not covered by insurance. Let’s raise enough money in our 2nd Annual Tee It Up for Austin to give Austin the very best recovery plan possible! Please consider being part of Tee It Up for Austin by being a sponsor, donating prizes and auction items, playing in the tournament, or simply giving a financial contribution. There are many opportunities for you to participate and show your support of this amazing and exceptional young man. All proceeds for Tee It Up for Austin will go to Help Hope Live in honor of Austin to support his medically related physical therapy and medical treatment expenses.
