STOP SCROLLING for a second! Check out this photo!
This haul was delivered this week to a home in Point Pleasant.
It was dropped (free of charge) to a family in Point Boro with 4 children.
It was dropped by local grandparents who volunteer their time every Tuesday morning in the summer.
Over ONE HUNDRED homes in Point Boro received these groceries this Tuesday morning.
This has been happening EVERY TUESDAY in the summer since 2018.
Are you new here?! Welcome! We would LOVE if you read on to check out a few fun facts about our program, ending with a BIG announcement that we need YOUR help with!!!
Fun facts:
-WE ARE 100% VOLUNTEER RUN
-Our summer volunteers are mostly middle school and high school students who volunteer a combined 500 hours each year giving back to their fellow students.
-We serve about 250 food insecure Boro students year round!
-We provide emergency assistance about 75 times each year to Boro families, giving between $400-$2000 worth of items and gift cards depending on the severity of the need. WE HAVE NEVER TURNED DOWN A REQUEST.
-We choose to give students on the national lunch program access to HEALTHY, KID FRIENDLY FOOD.
-Our small grassroots program serves about 25,000 meals a year.
