WMAC group member the Flat River Community Players are hosting their annual meeting at 1:00 on Saturday Feb 7. This meeting will be held at the Greenville Public Library and the public is invited. There wil be a recap of the 2025 season and an introduction to the upcoming 2026 season.

WMAC member group The Cedar Springs Community Junior Players is producing their Winter Showcase on Saturday March 7th! This production is open to allstudents grades 1-12 and everyone will receive a role! Performances wuill be grouped into 2 different tracts based on grade and there is a $30 participation fee. There will be TWO shows - one for grades 1-5 and the other for grades 6 and up. The performances will be at the Kent Theatre in Cedar Springs on Saturday March 7 at 3:00 pm. Admission is free for all friends nad family! Registration deadline for performers is January 18th 2026.

This lovely annual tradition is absolutely free and will take place on Sunday December 7 at 3:00 in the Fine Arts Auditorium in Rockford High School.

Kent Philharmonic Orchestra Presents –
Rach with Tchaik Rocking Rachmaninoff with Tchaikovsky

The Kent Philharmonic Orchestra is presenting a wonderful concert of Russian music October 24th. Opening with the Overture to Russlan and Ludmilla by Glinka, and then featuring the Michigan Ballet Academy students dancing to Tchaikovsky’s Suite from the ballet Swan Lake. The program will also feature the KPO Concerto Contest winner, Jason Shaye performing the first movement of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 1. The finale will be an homage to Halloween with the performance of Moussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain. The Kent Philharmonic Orchestra is proudly conducted by Dr. Libor Ondras and sponsored by Grand Rapids Community College.

The West Michigan Arts Council 2025 Youth Program presents its annual LEGO PARTY hosted by Scraffe Chiropractic. Absolutely free and open to the public, join us at Scraffe Chiropractic on Sept. 27 from noon to 2pm. It’s an afternoon of Lego building, games and challenges and a chance to win a brand new Lego set!

Sparta Art Walk 2025 is Almost Here! Visit downtown Sparta businesses during the months of September and October to view beautiful original works of art by Michigan artists! Each participating business will have a Sparta Art Walk 2025 VENUE sign on the front of their building. Brochures including a map of all venues will be available at these businesses as well as the Sparta Chamber of Commerce. Plan your fall activities to include this wonderful opportunity to see the gorgeous work displayed by our wonderful Michigan artists while strolling delightful downtown Sparta.

"Exit Laughing" was a great success with performances on both August 1st and 2nd! Wonderful crowds attended both nights to see the amazing Hit'N'Run Players directed by Kent Schuster enact this hilarious play written by Paul Elliott. Both nights Distinctive Catering provided the excellent dinner and producer, the West Michigan Arts Council, added a cash bar and dessert buffet. Many thanks to sponsors the Sparta Township Historical Commission, Mr. B's Plumbing and Becky Southwell as well as the Sparta Chamber of Commerce, Wolverine Worldwide, and the Cedar Springs Public Library for their assistance and support. August 2025 was the 9th time the WMAC has hosted a Dinner Theater event and hopes are high that next year in 2026 will be the 10th Anniversary!
