Sunday, March 29, is Palm Sunday. Here at the Sparta Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7034 Auxiliary, we also observe National Vietnam War Veterans Day, honoring the 9 million Americans who served during the Vietnam War era. This date was chosen because on March 29, 1973, the U.S. Military Assistance Command-Vietnam was disbanded, and the last U.S. combat troops departed the Republic of Vietnam. Established in 2017, this day honors service, sacrifice, and provides a long-overdue "welcome home" to veterans who returned from the war. Never forget.
On behalf of a grateful nation we honor you, thank you for your service, and thank you for our freedom. 🇺🇸
