Due to weather conditions associated with Hurricane Isaias, the Carolina Classic Fair will be CLOSED on Saturday, October 10. The Fair will reopen on Sunday, October 11 at 2 p.m. with FREE ADMISSION for everyone through 9 p.m. Gates will close at 9 p.m., the fair will close at 11 p.m.

Sunday, October 11 will be the final day of the 2026 Carolina Classic Fair. We’ll see you tomorrow afternoon!

So proud of Hoyt who made his way to the NC Youth Market Turkey Show today in Raleigh. It was Hoyt’s first year participating and he did amazing. 🤩 A big shout out to all the 4-Hers, parents, volunteers and staff that made it all happen. 🦃🍀.

$4 for 4-H starts today! 💚

From today until October 8, we’re challenging 4-H supporters to help turn North Carolina green.

Our goal: receive at least one gift connected to each of North Carolina’s 100 counties.

A gift starting at just $4 can put your county on the map while supporting opportunities for young people through NC 4-H.

2027 NCD 4-H Poultry & Rabbit Show registration will be held in 4-H Online. So, once you re-enroll for the new year in January, you can select this show if you plan to participate.

Our tentative plans are:
Jan. 11 Registration Deadline for the Poultry Show event in 4-H Online
Feb. 13 (tentative, pending USPS delivery): families pick up chicks
May 31 - Rabbit Show deadline (need help finding a rabbit??? Contact Ms. Amy)
June 1, 2027 - Project Record Books Due (hard copy or digital, but NOT Kaleidoscope)
June 15, 2027 @ 10 a.m. - NCD 4-H Poultry & Rabbit Show - Location: King American Legion Post 290, 432 South Main Street, King, NC (in the barn)

The two breeds we are planning for the chicken show are Orpington (possibly Buff, depending on availability) and a Rock (possibly Barred, depending on availability).

The following are not changes, but clarifications:
Cloverbuds will NOT participate in pen-of-3 breed classes.
All animals should be housed in North Carolina or have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) from their veterinarian less than thirty days before the show.
