Swyear Carnival Rides begin tonight at the Sparta Park from 6:00-10:00!! Tonight is 2 tickets per ride night. Each ticket is $1.50. It's going to be a FANTASTIC night to hit the Midway!!
FYI-There will be a beer stand under the grandstands. We ask that you keep all alcohol out of the Midway and in the area of the grandstands. Thanks!!
We are still accepting donations to sponsor the $10 off armbands!! You can drop your donation off at City Hall. I'll be working on the sponsor flyer this afternoon, so if you would like to donate, please let me know as soon as possible! THANK YOU!! to our current sponsors!!

CITY OF SPARTA INVITATION TO BID – JANITORIAL SERVICES
The City of Sparta is accepting sealed bids for Janitorial Services for Sparta City Hall, the Sparta Police Department, and the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Bid packets and specifications may be obtained at:
City Hall 114 W. Jackson St. Sparta, IL 62286 (618) 443-2917
Sealed bids must be submitted to the City Clerk no later than 3:00 p.m. on 5/7/2026 and must be clearly marked: “JANITORIAL SERVICES BID – CITY OF SPARTA”
All bidders must provide proof of liability insurance and be registered with the City as a contractor prior to award.
The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities.
