💙 The Sparta Lions Family Needs Our Support 💙

Many of you know the Anderson family, whose roots run deep in our Sparta Lions community. Marty Anderson's son, Nick Anderson, and the grandson of Oscar Anderson, one of the founders of the Sparta Lions Club, has recently been diagnosed with ALS.

Nick is only in his early 30s and is facing this devastating diagnosis while raising three young children with his wife. As you can imagine, the road ahead will be incredibly challenging for their family.

A GoFundMe has been established to help ease the financial burden as they navigate medical expenses, lost income, and the many unexpected costs that come with ALS.

If you are able, please consider making a donation. If donating isn't possible, sharing this post is another meaningful way to help support Nick and his family during this difficult time.

A big Thank You to Blondie blossom boutique-Sparta for partnering with the Sparta Lions Club by hosting an eyeglass recycling box!

Thanks to the generosity of our community, we collected a lot of donated glasses that will now be recycled and given a second life to help those in need.

The Sparta Lions Club wrapped up Town & Country 2026! Proud to serve the community with burgers, hot dogs, and pulled pork sandwiches.

We were also excited to put our KidSight trailer to work, helping provide vision screenings for local children while connecting with families throughout the event.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and supported us. We love serving our community!

The Sparta Lions Club had a great first night at Town & Country Days! It may have been a bit chilly, but it was a wonderful evening serving the community with burgers, hot dogs, and pulled pork sandwiches.

We were also excited to put our KidSight trailer to work — our mobile, specialized unit that provides free, high-tech vision screenings for children.

We hope to see everyone again tonight from 5–8 PM at Rogers Park! Come out, grab some great food, and support your local Lions Club community efforts.

Sparta Lions at Town & Country Days!

We’ll have our KidSight trailer parked behind Dollar General in Sparta, offering free, comprehensive vision screenings for children from 6 months old through high school age.

Early vision checks are so important—stop by and take advantage of this free service while you’re at the event!

And don’t forget to visit our Lions concessions stand for something tasty! Grab a burger, hot dog, or pulled pork sandwich while you’re there!

The Sparta Lions Club attended the Volunteer Roundup at Downtown Trini's and Margarita Joe's ! We love giving back and volunteering in Sparta while supporting our amazing local community.
