The Park Board was in favor of the city adding a new dog park! Multiple locations were discussed and funding will be a primary factor moving forward. Nothing definite was decided...

Exciting news!!! This is the next step in moving this project forward. The park board will be meeting Monday evening to discuss and consider the proposal for a new dog park! Thank you to everyone who visited and liked this page so far! I expected nothing less than overwhelming support from our amazing community! This is still in the very early planning stages and updates will be posted as new information is available. The proposal will be discussed at upcoming city planning meetings and the Parks & Recreation Director wants this to become a reality! Location ideas for the new dog park are being explored, and Memorial Park is being considered. There is still a dog park in Amundsen Park on the west side of town. This was a girl scout project a few years back and the young lady raised the money to build it on her own, hence the smaller space. Please share this page with your friends to keep this ball rolling!!!

Welcome to the Friends of Sparta, WI Dog Park page! The creators of this page are enthusiastic about the idea of establishing a new Dog Park in Sparta, WI. Community officials are on board with this proposal but we need community support to justify the financial expenditure of tax-payer dollars. Dog parks provide opportunities for canine socialization and play, off-leash exercise, and human interaction. Safety precautions will be implemented to mitigate risks. Common sense practices will prevail. Thank you for your support!!!
