Calling all Sparta Veterans!!!

Sparta VFW is inviting all local veterans to march with us during the upcoming Memorial Day Parade on Monday May 25th. Many of us are wearing our uniforms during the parade to celebrate "America 250". Honorably discharged veterans are encouraged to proudly wear their uniforms!

The VFW will have seating accommodations for those who wish to participate but are unable to march.

To join us, simply show up on Monday May 25th around 9AM during parade lineup. The VFW assembly point will be at station 6 on East Shore Trail near the Lake Mohawk Marina.

From Uniform Regulations: Honorably discharged veterans who did not officially retire (20+ years or medical) may still wear their uniform on special occasions, such as memorial services or patriotic parades, as permitted by 32 CFR Part 53.

Memorial Day Parade

Sparta VFW Post 7248 is once again organizing the Sparta Township Memorial Day Parade scheduled to take place on Memorial Day, Monday, 25 May 2026 beginning at 10 AM.
Participants will line up along East Shore Trail near the Lake Mohawk Marina beginning at 9 AM. The parade will end at Nicholson Pavilion in Dykstra Park where the Memorial Day Ceremony will occur. Upon completion of the ceremony, there will be a complementary lunch and refreshments at the Sparta VFW.

Participants are required to fill out an online registration form. Parade lineup, updates or changes will be posted on Sparta VFW page.

It is actually, April 9th, Thursday

Join Council 588 for our Monthly Business/Social Meeting at Sparta VFW Post #7248 on Thursday, April 9th; dinner starts at 6:30, meeting starts at 7. Below is a message from our esteemed Chef.

"Spring is in the air, and our next dinner will be more than fair. I will make for you to take; this fancy sandwich made from steak.

Homemade burgers all spiced up with red and green peppers and onions inside as well as my secret spice blend. Topped off with a special burger sauce and Caramelized onions. All on toasted garlic bread.

What better to go with the burgers are disco fries with a homemade tarragon brown gravy.

Veggies...None this time. Who really needs veggies when you have burgers and fries?

Bring your appetite for this culinary delight."
