Last week, the JATC hosted Lawrence Booth, President & CEO of Frank M. Booth, Inc., who toured our SMART Local 26 training facility! Lawrence is partnering with us to help develop the curriculum for our upcoming night classes, aimed at growing our members' skills in architectural and commercial sheet metal work.
We've brought on two new instructors, and classes are starting soon — this is a great opportunity to build your skills and help us grow commercial market share in our area. Interested members, watch for sign-up details or contact the hall for more info!

Support Our Apprentice Kaitlyn on Her Road to Recovery ❤️

Kaitlyn, a SMART Local 26 apprentice, was seriously injured in a car accident on her way to work. She now faces a difficult road to recovery, and this unexpected situation can have a significant impact on a young life.

If you’re able, please consider donating to Kaitlyn’s GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden during this difficult time. If you can’t donate, sharing this post can make a difference too.

Let’s come together and show Kaitlyn that she isn’t facing this alone. ❤️
Support. Share. Stand with Kaitlyn.

SMART Local 26 was proud to meet with D & D Roofing and Sheet Metal at the Northern Nevada Sheet Metal & HVAC Apprenticeship Training Center to discuss training, workforce development, and future opportunities for our members.

By working together with our signatory contractors and the JATC, we continue to strengthen our industry, expand training opportunities, and prepare members for long-term success.

Thank you to Jason Glines, Adam Subia, and the D & D team for their valuable input as we develop future night classes and upgrade training programs.

We’re gonna miss you Tom!

We are proud to announce the retirement of Brother Thomas Blotzke.

His many accomplishments also include serving as JATC Trustee and Co-Chairman, JATC Coordinator, JATC Instructor, and Past President of Local 26. In addition, Tom successfully owned and operated his own HVAC business and built his career after graduating from the JATC Apprenticeship Program.

Through his vision, dedication, and commitment to continuous improvement, he contributed to the transformation of the Local 26 JATC training center. Throughout his career, he has been an outstanding teacher, mentor, and leader whose commitment to excellence has left a lasting impact on our organization and membership.

Tom’s dedication, knowledge, and leadership will be greatly missed. As he begins this exciting new chapter as a Local 26 retiree, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for his many years of service and wish him happiness, health, and success in retirement.
