"Honor the Fallen by Assisting the Living" As the Nation’s oldest major veterans’ organization, The VFW has an impeccable and longstanding record of stewardship and support to our community. More than four million patriotic Americans, both members and non-members, entrust the VFW with financial contributions and dedicate millions of volunteer hours. Over the l

ast decade, approximately 80% of support received from VFW members and patriotic Americans was applied directly to veterans service, community service, legislative advocacy and military service programs worldwide. At the local level we are continually inspiring patriotism in our young people with awarding scholarships in our Voice of Democracy, Patriot Pen essay, Scout of the Year and Teacher of the year programs. We strive to thank America’s educators by providing them with helpful resources and encouraging our members to visit local classrooms. This lets the VFW help education America’s future leaders and bring history to life! We participate in a wide range of assistance programs aimed at helping service members and veterans of every generation. It is the mission of the VFW post to work with unit commanders and senior enlisted personnel to develop supportive relationships with units before, during and after deployments. we offer a vast network of free resources and a variety of direct support for military members and their families. We have recently renewed our cooperation with our Adopted Nevada National Guard units and are currently getting ready for Holiday parties and deployment ceremonies. It is with our support of our community partners we make all this happen – if you are interested in joining or supporting please email your information to [email protected]

🌟 **Honoring Our Heroes: VFW Day Service** 🌟

Today, VFW Post 3396 in Sparks, Nevada, alongside its dedicated auxiliary, hosted a meaningful VFW Day service at the Nevada Veterans Memorial Plaza, beautifully located at the Sparks Marina.

We were thrilled to see so many community partners come together, including:
- **Home Depot** for their invaluable support
- **Sparks JROTC** and **Reid High School JROTC** for engaging our youth
- **Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association** showing solidarity
- **Blue Star Mothers**, representing families of active service members
- **American Legion** and **Disabled American Veterans** joining us in honoring our fallen heroes

Our team worked diligently today, tackling extensive maintenance tasks such as repainting and cleaning the memorial, ensuring that it remains a pristine tribute to our service members. We are grateful for the incredible community support that made this endeavor possible, helping us preserve the legacy of those who sacrificed so much for our freedom.

Together, we ensure that the stories of our heroes are remembered and honored for generations to come. Thank you to everyone who participated and supported this important cause! 🇺🇸❤️

Just a reminder that the VFW Silver State Post 3396 Day of Service is happening this Saturday from 8 AM to about 1 or 2 PM at the Nevada Veterans Memorial Plaza, located at Sparks Marina.

We'll be undertaking several important tasks, including:

- **Painting** various items on the memorial to refresh their appearance
- **Landscaping** and implementing insect abatement programs
- **Thoroughly scrubbing** the memorial, including the bricks and marble
- Performing basic maintenance on the memorial
- **Trash cleanup** around the memorial, with the possibility of expanding throughout the park, depending on volunteer turnout

This is our third year at the Nevada Veterans Memorial Plaza, and this year’s efforts will be more intensive, focusing on maintenance.

If you’d like to come by, you can say hello and visit the memorial while we work. We’ll also have a pop-up tent where you can purchase bricks or make donations to support the memorial. All funds raised during this event are sponsored by VFW Post 3396 in Sparks, Nevada.

We’d love to see you there! Whether you want to help out or just stop by to say hi, join us at 8 AM.
