Sometimes the smallest comforts can make the biggest difference. 💜
Last week, more than 200 stuffed animals and blankets were donated to our friends at The Dreams Foundation, who delivered them to the Renown Children’s Hospital to help restock the comfort closet for young patients. Huge thank you to Sarah E. Carmona Zink for being so wonderful and for all that you do for the littlest patients in our community ❤️
For a child facing an unexpected hospital stay, a frightening procedure, or a difficult diagnosis, a soft blanket or a cuddly stuffed animal can become so much more than a gift. It can be a source of comfort, security, courage and hope during a moment that feels overwhelming.
As parents, grandparents, neighbors and community members, we never want a child to feel alone during life’s hardest moments. That’s why donations like these matter. 🧸

🍎✨ Showing up for our educators intentionally, locally and with heart.

Last week, we had the privilege of celebrating the incredible teams at Greenbrae Elementary and Veterans Memorial Elementary, two schools filled with educators who pour so much into our kids every single day. 💛

Through this small but meaningful effort, we were able to show our appreciation in a tangible way:
✨ Thoughtfully curated goodie bags for every teacher at both schools
🍩 Donuts, coffee & juice delivered to Veterans, made possible by the generosity of Shawna Ross and our friends at DoughBoysDonuts on Mae Anne
🥪 Lunch provided for the amazing staff at Greenbrae

Because supporting teachers isn’t just a gesture, it’s an investment in the environments where our kids learn, grow, and thrive.

🍎 It’s Teacher Appreciation Week, and we’re celebrating the educators who show up for our kids every single day. 💕
Teachers do so much more than teach. ✏️ They mentor, listen, encourageand often spend their own time and money making sure their classrooms have what students need.

Which is exactly why showing up for teachers is such an important part of our work. 📚 Through our fall Educate to Elevate campaign, the Nevada Kids Foundation funds teacher-submitted classroom wish lists, helping educators across Northern Nevada access the supplies, tools, and resources they need without spending out of pocket. We also invest in tutoring, enrichment, and after-school programs that help classrooms truly thrive. ✨

Through this initiative, ANY teacher in Northern Nevada can submit a classroom wish list that reflects the real needs of their students, from everyday essentials to meaningful enrichment opportunities. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we work to fulfill as many wish lists as possible, with selected submissions funded in full or in part to extend our impact across more classrooms.

📝 Applications open this summer, with a final deadline of August 1st, 2026. Teachers will be notified via email by August 15th if their wish list has been selected, and supplies will be delivered before the end of August, just in time for the new school year.

To every teacher reading this: thank you for showing up, for loving our kids and for being the quiet force behind so many Northern Nevada success stories. 💛

The Nevada Kids Foundation’s 4th Annual Fairways for the Future Charity Golf Classic returns to Montreux Golf & Country Club on Monday, August 10th.

This private, double shotgun tournament features both morning and afternoon waves, with a premier four-person scramble designed for a select group of community leaders and partners.

From curated on-course experiences to a thoughtfully hosted reception, every detail is intentional, every swing tied to a greater purpose. Foursomes include golf, carts, range balls, and a reception lunch or dinner.

Celebrating the moments that make learning come alive 💙

We’re proud to support experiences that bring students, families, and educators together. During Music in Our Schools Month, Numa Elementary School hosted a fourth-grade concert and “Lyrics and Literacy” Music Trivia Night alongside their book fair that blended music, learning, and community in a meaningful way.

Through this event, 32 families took home games for family game night, creating opportunities for connection and learning beyond the classroom.

At Nevada Kids Foundation, our mission has always been to meet real needs and support Churchill County schools and beyond. Whether it’s creativity, collaboration, or confidence being built, these are the moments that matter.

Culinary Arts students debuted Wave on Wheels, their student-run food truck on March 13 during the Spring Fling Dance, giving them the chance to put classroom skills into practice by preparing and serving food to their peers.
