Check out the latest issue of Dominican Life USA featuring Sr. Nazia Shafi and Associate Ann Hagopian!

Like our founders, St. Dominic and Mother Catherine Antoninus Thorpe, both Sr. Nazia and Ann embody the Dominican spirit of itinerancy—remaining open to where God calls them and responding generously to the needs of others. Their journeys of faith, service, and compassion remind us that ministry often begins by simply saying "yes."

If you need a willing heart, a helping hand, or a faithful companion on the journey, look no further than these remarkable women.

Last week, we celebrated the Feast of the Sacred Heart and reflected on Christ’s boundless love for the world.

In her reflection, Sister Helen Robert Boyd invites us to imagine what it means to live with the heart of Jesus—one filled with compassion, mercy, and self-giving love.

As we continue to carry the spirit of this feast into our daily lives, may we open our hearts to others and respond to the needs of our world with tenderness and hope.

Today, we highlight an insight from Pope Leo XIV’s powerful encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas (May 15, 2026). He reminds us that the way we communicate is of fundamental importance, that we must say ‘no’ to the war of words and images, rejecting the paradigm of war. To explore Pope Leo XIV and his writings, visit our Siena Theological Resource Center in Dominican Convent in Sparkill. Call 845-359-4079 to arrange your visit!

🌊 All eyes on a healthy ocean this . When people and communities come together with a shared purpose, we can create meaningful change and protect the waters that sustain life on Earth.

“The ocean is a mighty harmonist,” wrote William Wordsworth—a reminder of the beauty, power, and vital role our oceans play in keeping our planet in balance.
