The front exit gate has been experiencing random issues over the past few months causing it to not always open when the exit loop sensor has been triggered. We had a gate technician come out and look at it, but he was unable to find any faults with it. There were no fault trouble codes stored within the system to help track the source of the problem down. The technician did recommend a couple of things that may help resolve the issue and will be sending it to the Board for approval. Since then, the gate problem has gotten worse by staying in the open position and closing about 1/8 of the way every few minutes.
To prevent any additional damage to the gate we have permanently locked it in the open position, ensuring homeowners can exit the community. As an additional safety measure, we have also opened the entrance gate, due to past experience of people trying to bypass the entrance gate and blindly entering through the exit gate when it is open potentially causing a accident. We hope to have the technician out soon especially since they have something different to evaluate and will hopefully resolve this issue.
