A Legacy of Books & Imagination 📚❤️
In recognition of Dolly Parton’s passing, we’re taking a moment to celebrate a remarkable part of her legacy: her extraordinary generosity to children, libraries, and literacy.

In 1995, Dolly founded the Imagination Library, inspired by her father, who never had the opportunity to learn to read. What began in her home county of East Tennessee grew into a global program that has mailed hundreds of millions of free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five.

So today, as we celebrate the joy found in the children’s books on our shelves, we say thank you to Dolly Parton, the Book Lady, for helping put so many books into so many little hands.

Thank you, Dolly. Your imagination lives on.🦋

Our latest display celebrates the fascinating life, style, and legacy of Jackie Kennedy Onassis. From her time in the White House to her life as a cultural icon, these books offer a closer look at one of America’s most unforgettable women. And sprinkled throughout the display, you’ll find a few Jackie-inspired baubles available for sale, as well.

Thanks to our creative shelvers, you’ll find a new display devoted entirely to books with animals in the title or theme. It’s considerably easier than spotting wildlife in the woods and far less likely to involve mosquitoes.

Come browse the herd, flock, pod or pride - whatever the collective noun is for a pile of good animal books - and adopt one before they all wander off.

Scattered throughout the store you’ll find our latest displays of curated curiosities: beads and baubles, Christmas books (because it’s never too early for a little holiday cheer), fish patterned china and other unexpected treasures.
Half the fun is seeing what you’ll discover around the next shelf. You may come in for a novel and leave with a teacup...or vice versa.

🏖️ The beach just moved into our Children’s Section...and it brought books! 🌊📚

Our youngest readers now have their very own seaside getaway, complete with bright boats and buckets, an adorable beach chair, and a whole shoreline of books waiting to be discovered.

Whether your little reader dreams of studying sharks, rescuing sea turtles, exploring tide pools, or simply collecting seashells, we’ve got books to spark their curiosity and fuel their imagination.

The age-old question: Was the movie as good as the book? 🍿

Our latest display is filled with stories that made the leap from page to screen. Some adaptations nailed it. Some...well...let’s just say no movie could quite match the one you pictured in your mind. 😉
