What began as a simple yes to God became a sacred journey we never could have imagined, one filled with stories of redemption, perseverance, healing, and hope. This ministry has always belonged to Him, and it has been our honor to steward it for this season.

Thank you for walking this journey with us, for trusting us with your stories, and for allowing BKF to be part of your blended family story. We are cheering you on, praying for you, and believing with all our hearts that the best is still ahead.

Be blessed in all that you do,
Scott & Vanessa

Dear Friends,

Six years ago, we felt God's call to help blended families discover their true kingdom identity and live abundantly in Christ. We believed that when families are rooted in the truth of God's word, they don't just survive, they thrive. We wanted to create a space where blended families could find practical tools, biblical truth, and a community that understood the unique journey of blending, a place where couples could be real about the challenges without judgment and find hope for their families. What we didn't expect was how much you would give us in return.

Blended Kingdom Families has never truly been ours, it's always been His. From the very beginning, this has been God's ministry, and we have simply had the profound honor of stewarding it for this season. Every breakthrough, every transformation, every marriage that chose to stay and fight, that's been the Lord's work, not ours. We were just privileged to witness it and walk alongside you.

And now, after much prayer and seeking the Lord's heart, we feel His gentle, clear release from actively carrying BKF forward. God's assignments have seasons, and we've come to understand that our season of leading this ministry has reached its completion. This is about walking forward in obedience to where He's leading us next.

We've learned that faithfulness doesn't always look like holding on. Sometimes it looks like releasing what we love into God's hands, trusting that His plans are bigger and better than our ability to carry them. Just as Moses led the people to the edge of the Promised Land but Joshua took them in, just as Elijah passed the mantle to Elisha, not because they failed, but because their assignment was complete, we recognize that laying something down can be the highest expression of our faith.

You have been one of the greatest blessings of our lives. Every vulnerable conversation, every time you trusted us with your story, every group meeting where we all just showed up messy and real, those moments have been sacred to us. You let us into your hardest places, and we will carry those memories with us forever. You have shaped who we are as people, as a couple, and as a family.

What we want you to know is this: the mission of Blended Kingdom Families doesn't end here. The true fruit of this ministry is lived out in your homes, in your marriages, in the way you love your spouse, in how you parent and step-parent, in how you navigate the hard moments with grace and grit. Every time you choose your marriage when it's difficult, every time you extend grace to a stepchild, every time you trust God in the messy middle, that's the legacy of BKF continuing.

While we're no longer actively operating the ministry, we believe God will continue to use what's been created as a storehouse for blended families who need it. Our books remain available on Amazon, the podcast episodes are still accessible on all major platforms, and the resources are there for anyone who needs them. What was planted through BKF will continue to bear fruit in ways we may never see, and that's exactly how God works.

The need for blended family support hasn't gone away, and we trust that God will continue to raise up new voices, resources, and communities to serve blended families. Our prayer is that what was planted through BKF will be part of that larger movement He's building.

Our prayer is that you keep going. That when it gets hard, and it will get hard, you remember you're not alone. That you give yourself grace for the messy middle. That you celebrate the small wins. That you keep choosing your marriage, keep showing up for your kids and bonus kids, keep believing that God can redeem and restore what's been broken. Many blended families are born out of loss, but they don't have to stay defined by it. You get to write a new story, one of resilience, of grace, of love that chooses to stay even when it's hard.

Don't give up. Your family is worth it. Your marriage is worth it. The kids who are watching you navigate this, they're worth it. And remember, God sees you. He sees the effort you're putting in that nobody else notices. He sees the ways you're sacrificing and serving and showing up. That matters. You matter.

Thank you for walking this journey with us and allowing us to partner with you in the hardest and most beautiful parts of your blended family story. We're cheering for you. We're praying for you. And we believe with all our hearts that the best is still ahead for every one of your families.

To God be all the glory. He is faithful, and His plans are always, always better than ours.

Be blessed in all that you do,

Scott & Vanessa Martindale

P.S. We've recorded a final podcast message for you where we share more of our hearts about this transition. We hope you'll take a few minutes to watch it and hear directly from us.

Even when life feels uncertain, messy, or out of order, His timing is perfect. Every season, joyful or challenging, has a purpose, shaping hearts, growing faith, and revealing His plan in ways we might not yet see. Trusting His timing brings peace, strengthens families, and fills marriages with patience, grace, and hope for what’s to come.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” Ecclesiastes 3:11

One of the greatest tensions in blended family life is learning how to prioritize your marriage and love your children well. Culture often says, “Kids come before everything.” But Scripture paints a different picture, one where a healthy, Christ-centered marriage becomes the foundation that blesses the entire home.

When we constantly choose our kids over our spouse, we’re not modeling the kind of covenant love we want our children to one day experience. We’re unintentionally teaching them that marriage is optional… secondary… disposable.

But when we prioritize our marriage with intentionality, boundaries, and grace, we show them what unity looks like. What honor looks like. What commitment looks like.
Healthy marriage doesn’t diminish a child’s needs, it strengthens the environment where their needs are met.

A strong marriage doesn’t take love from your kids, it gives them a safer, healthier place to grow.

Quality time looks different for every child, and that’s okay. In blended families, one-on-one moments can be powerful opportunities to build connection, understanding, and trust. When kids are doing something they enjoy, their guard comes down, opening the door for deeper conversations about how they’re feeling, how relationships are going, and what’s on their heart.

Whether it’s a drive to Starbucks, a movie night, or a simple walk, those meaningful moments create space for healing and growth.

After His resurrection, Jesus intentionally showed His scars to His disciples, saying, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side” (John 20:27). Those scars were not marks of weakness, they were proof of victory, life, and hope.

In the same way, the scars we carry from past marriages, heartbreak, or challenges are not ugly or shameful. They do not disqualify anyone from God’s grace. Instead, they are evidence of His love at work, a reminder that He can heal, redeem, and restore what was broken. Each scar tells a story of miracles, transformation, and new beginnings, showing that even through pain, God’s power and faithfulness can bring beauty, hope, and restoration to marriages, families, and hearts. 🙏

Prayer is a powerful shield of love that covers our children/bonus children when we cannot. Whether they’re biological, bonus, or spiritual children in our lives, lifting them up to God creates an armor of protection, guidance, and hope. Every prayer is surrounding them with grace even in moments we can’t be physically present.

Parents, never underestimate the transformative power of praying over your children. Your prayers are seeds of blessing that will bloom in ways you may never fully see, but God always knows.

As a new year begins, it’s a chance to start fresh, seek God’s guidance, and step into the plans He has for each of our lives. Every choice, every moment, and every step can become an opportunity to grow closer to Him, to embrace His wisdom, and to reflect His love in all that we do.

This new beginning invites patience in difficult moments, gratitude for every blessing, and courage to follow His path even when it feels uncertain. By leaning on Him, families can be strengthened, marriages can flourish, and hearts can be filled with peace, hope, and joy that carry through every day of the year. ✨💛

As we step into a new year, take time to pause and ask God for a word to carry with you into 2026. That word becomes an anchor, something to return to in the highs and the lows, the celebrations and the challenges.

Life will ebb and flow, but when we hold onto what God has spoken, we’re reminded again and again of His goodness, His faithfulness, and His steady presence in every season. 🤍
