General information
Ambassador and board member, Kenyon Martin, has been a strong supporter of various charities throughout his NBA career. He has previously served as an honorary Ambassador for the March of Dimes Colorado Chapter to help raise awareness about the crisis of premature birth and a Board Member of the American Institute for Stuttering. He has also lent his support to the numerous charitable endeavors of his teammates and other notable figures both here and abroad: The Greg Buckner Foundation hosted a supplies drive and fundraiser to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The all day event took place in downtown Denver. The foundation raised a large amount of money which was then matched by Kenyon. Kenyon has participated in Eduardo Najera's Charity Basketball game in his hometown of Chihuahua , Mexico for several years. Each year the game is a huge success and raises substantial amounts for the Eduardo Najera Foundation. Kenyon participates in The Summer Groove in Miami. This annual charity event hosted by Alonzo Mourning and Dwayne Wade is a celebrity weekend full of events and clinics that benefit Alonzo Mourning Charities and Wade's World Foundation. Each year Kenyon participates in Big Tigger's Annual Celebrity Classic, a charity event benefiting the Street Corner Foundation which focuses on educating and raising awareness on the AIDS crisis. Kenyon supports the Ludacris Foundation’s Helping Youth Help Themselves initiatives. Kenyon attended the LudaDay Weekend 2010 in Atlanta. The Kenyon Martin Foundation has also awarded a grant to The Ludacris Foundation.
