Because of you, Dragons Care continues to make a meaningful impact in the lives of Carroll ISD staff members facing unexpected hardships.

During the 2nd quarter of 2026, we were honored to provide $21,605 in assistance to 10 staff members and their families. These grants help ease financial burdens during some of life's most challenging moments, allowing educators and staff to focus on what matters most.

Every donation and shared post helps make this support possible. Thank you for being part of a community that truly cares for its own.

🎉 Happy Birthday, Hayley! 💚

Today we're celebrating Hayley Smetana, Parent Liaison at Old Union Elementary and one of the very first people to believe in the mission of Dragons Care.

Since Day One, Hayley has been a dedicated supporter, advocate, and friend of Dragons Care. Her heart for serving others and her commitment to the Carroll ISD community have helped make our organization what it is today.

We are incredibly grateful for her partnership, encouragement, and the countless ways she supports students, families, staff, and our community.

💚 Supporting Monica Payton, Transition Specialist at Admin. 💚

The Dragons Care community is coming together to support Ms. Monica Payton, a Transition Specialist serving students and families at the Carroll ISD Administration Building. Monica plays an important role in helping students, and we want her to feel supported as she focuses on her health and recovery.

“I recently underwent surgery and am now focused on recovery. I’m grateful for the excellent care I received and for the support, prayers, and well wishes from family and friends. Thank you for your kindness during this time.”

This fundraiser is simply an opportunity for colleagues, families, and community members to show support while Monica continues to heal. There is no expectation, only a chance to help ease the challenges that come with time away from work and recovery.

Dragons Care exists to ensure that no staff member goes through a difficult season alone. Today, we stand with Monica and remind her that her community is here for her.

This is a Level 2 grant with a guaranteed minimum goal of $500. Every single dollar you give—even beyond the goal—goes directly to the grant recipient.
