Soaring to the Highest Rank in Scouting!

Troop 928 is incredibly proud to announce tonight our newest Eagle Scout, Mayon!

Reaching the rank of Eagle Scout is the culmination of years of hard work, perseverance, leadership, and unwavering dedication. We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate this incredible milestone with Mayon and his family.

Mayon truly embodies what it means to be an Eagle Scout. With genuine humility and a selfless spirit, he is always among the first to step up and help our younger Scouts—patiently guiding them as they build their skills, confidence, and leadership abilities.

His commitment to service runs deep, especially in giving back to the Texas community that welcomed him when he moved here as a young Cub Scout. Through his actions, Mayon has shown that being an Eagle isn’t simply about earning a rank—it’s about becoming a leader who serves others and makes a lasting difference.

Mayon, your hard work, dedication to your fellow Scouts, and heart for service inspire all of us. Thank you for making Troop 928 a better troop simply by being a part of it.

What a way to kick off our 2026 Scouting season!
A huge congratulations to our Troop 928 Scouts who successfully completed their Robotics Merit Badge this afternoon. All 21 Scouts spent a fantastic afternoon at a local Southlake educational center, learning directly from knowledgeable, well-trained instructors who knew the badge requirements inside and out.
The kids had an absolute blast working together to assemble Spike Prime Lego robots, diving into the code, and programming their creations to navigate the badge requirement demonstration challenges and mini-competitions. Everyone walked away with a fully completed merit badge ready to add to their sash and great memories to start the year! Big thanks to the center's staff for hosting us and making STEM learning such an incredible highlight for our troop.

Last night, a Russian missile hit the factory where NOSU produces Scout uniforms.

We lost the fabric that had already been purchased, as well as uniforms that had already been produced and paid for, but not yet collected.

This happened just before the summer camp season, and all the uniforms lost belonged to new Scouts who had recently joined NOSU. For many of them, this summer will bring their first real Scout camp experience.

We cannot ask families to pay for the same uniform twice, but at the same time, NOSU is not in a position to replace everything that was lost on its own.

So today, we are turning to our friends, partners, and the global Scout community for support.

We all know that a Scout uniform is more than a shirt. It is about belonging, dignity, and equality. It is the feeling of standing together as part of a patrol, a troop, and the worldwide Scout family.

Please help us give these new Scouts the start to Scouting they deserve.

With your support, we will produce new uniforms and get them to the Scouts who have been waiting for them before their first summer camps.

- €20 provides a Scout uniform for one Ukrainian Scout
- €40 provides uniforms for two Ukrainian Scouts
- €100 provides uniforms for five Ukrainian Scouts

As a small thank-you:

- If you donate €20+, you will receive a thank-you video from a Ukrainian Scout.

- If you donate €40+, you will receive a thank-you video and a handmade postcard created by one of our Cub Scouts.

- If you donate €100+, you will receive a thank-you video, a handmade postcard, and a special edition NOSU Scout scarf.

All donations will go directly towards producing Scout uniforms for new Scouts.

All donors will receive a clear report on how the money was spent and what their support made possible.

Thank you for helping us make this possible!

Monday meetings at Troop 928 provide our Scouts with hands-on opportunities to master rank requirements.

From earning Totin' Chips—where they learn the safe handling of pocket knives, axes, and bow saws—to practicing essential woodcraft, our program is built on skill-building.
Older Scouts sharpen their leadership by teaching knots and chuckbox cooking to the newest members.

Additionally, new Scouts are currently diving into orienteering, mastering the compass in anticipation of the Longhorn Score-O event later this year!
