47 nonprofits came together under one roof to connect, collaborate and support each other.

Community Connect was a huge success!

The idea was simple bring nonprofits, volunteers, businesses and community leaders together, learn about each other and find ways to collaborate. Seeing everyone together made us realize this can be much bigger than just one event.

And we are not stopping here! The Community Connect app is coming soon to help nonprofits stay connected, share resources, volunteers, events and opportunities throughout the year.

A big thank you to Mayor Shawn McCaskill for joining us and supporting our community, and to Paul Barham for being a presenter, a wonderful host and for everything The Westin Southlake did for us.

Our amazing Lynda Warner and Robert Warner did a fantastic job moderating and making sure every nonprofit was highlighted.

A HUGE thank you to our SLF committee members and Student Leaders who worked behind the scenes planning and executing the event. You guys made it happen!

And of course, thank you to all our sponsors for believing in the vision and supporting us. We could not have done this without you.

Finally, thank you to every nonprofit, volunteer, partner and community member who joined us.

This was only our first Community Connect. I think we started something special.

Today is Community Connect!

The vision behind Community Connect is simple, bring nonprofits, volunteers, businesses, civic leaders, and our community together to connect, build relationships, and find new ways to work together.

Most importantly, today is about appreciating the amazing nonprofits and volunteers who give their time and energy to serve our community.

Come meet them, learn about what they do, and most importantly, show your appreciation for the nonprofits and volunteers who serve our community every day.

Southlake Foundation Student Leadership presents its 4th Annual Youth Entrepreneurs Summit!

This Saturday, come out to Southlake Town Square and support 60 young entrepreneurs with 60 big dreams! These young entrepreneurs have worked hard to bring their ideas to life, so come shop, support, and encourage them!

It’s all happening as part of Celebrate Southlake and the City’s 70th Birthday celebration!

Saturday, September 12 : 4–9 PM :Southlake Town Square

And stay for the light show & fireworks at 8:30 PM!

What happens when the people and organizations serving our communities come together not only to be appreciated, but also to connect and collaborate?

We are excited to introduce the inaugural Community Connect, a unique annual gathering dedicated to celebrating the volunteers, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders whose service makes a meaningful difference every day.

Presented by Southlake Foundation, The Westin Southlake, and Southlake Rotary Club, Community Connect will give nonprofits an opportunity to share their missions, build meaningful relationships, exchange ideas, and discover new ways to work together.

Really proud of what our students and parent mentors have built together!

From just 20 students three years ago to 350 students and 66 student officers today , it’s amazing to see how much the program has grown.

We had our SLF Student Officers Induction Program this week, and it was great to see our new student leadership team officially take on their roles.

Along with our Rotary Interact and Lions Leo Clubs, our students are actively supporting the Southlake Chamber, American Legion, Taste of Southlake, GRACE, and many other local organizations.

Thank you to Andrew Yeager, CISD School Board TrusteeAndrew Yeager, Lynda Warner, Judy Altman Anderson, Patricia Myers , Kylan Hoss and Sherri Lewis for joining us and inspiring our students.

A special thank you to Methodist Southlake Medical Center for hosting the event and supporting our students.

And a big thanks to all our Parent Mentors, Directors and volunteers, especially Meenu Raina and Jay Waheed, for putting everything together.
