To become Miss America’s Outstanding Teen, a contestant must first compete to represent her state, a process requiring personal commitment, hard work and talent. There are two options for entering Miss Connecticut’s Outstanding Teen Pageant:

2) Become an at-large contestant. This gives you all the benefits of a local titleholder, without having to compete in and win a local competition. For information on how to become an at-large contestant, please contact the Executive Director of the Miss Connecticut’s Outstanding Teen Program, Marla Prete Spadaccino at [email protected] The deadline for entering the state pageant as an at-large contestant is Sunday, March 10th. Eligibility Requirements:
To compete for Miss Connecticut's Outstanding Teen you must:
- Be a young lady between the ages of 13 and 17.
- Be a United States citizen.
- Be a resident of Connecticut.
- Meet character criteria as set forth by Miss America's Outstanding Teen, Inc.
- Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements.
- Be able to meet the time commitment and responsibilities as set forth by the Miss
Connecticut Scholarship Corporation.
- Must not be eligible to compete in the Miss America Competition. Areas of Competition:
1. Private Interview (30% of total score)
2. Academic Achievement (5% of total score at state and national level only)
3. On-Stage Question (5% of total score)
4. Lifestyle and Fitness (10% of total score)
5. Talent (35% of total score)
6. Personal Appearance/Poise in Evening Wear (15% of total score)
