The Wayton Open

The Wayton Open www.waytonopen.com The tournament has since grown tremendously, quickly become a popular event every summer in Southington.

The Wayton Open was founded in 2007 as a grassroots movement by Matt Wayton to bring back together Southington High School Alumni for a few games of tennis and a one day tournament. In 2011, The Wayton Open saw a men's singles division comprised of 60 players and a women's singles division comprised of 15 players. The tournament also had ten sponsors and was held over four days. In 2012 a doubles division will be added.

We were able to raise 💲6️⃣0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ for One More Dog Rescue and presented them with a check on Championship Sunday. Pictured is Mabel.

Huge thank you to everybody who played, sponsored, donated, spectated, and volunteered during the 9 day event. Whether you lost early or won the championship, the dogs won 🐶!!!

🎾Thank you to all the players who come back year after year. Truly some high quality tennis was seen over the fortnight. We hope you’ll consider playing again next year for our 20th Anniversary edition. Haven’t played this in a while? We’d love to have you back for the big 20. Big things in the work for next year!!!!🎾
