Troop 32 upcoming service project

Conservation Project: Assemble seven 10' long boardwalks and set them on a Southington Land Trust nature trail adjacent to Wedgewood Road. Scouts 14 and older will use power screwdrivers and/or power drills.

The boardwalks will be assembled at Val Guarino's home at 1432 East Street. Val Guarino is a board member of the Southington Land Trust.

When: 10AM to finish (2PM?) on Saturday 6/27

Be Prepared: Everyone must wear long pants with calf socks and a mask, wear work or hiking boots if you have them, bring work gloves, safety glasses, mosquito repellent, and snack/bag lunch. Water and hand sanitizer will be provided. Everyone will have their temperature checked prior to starting the project. Scouts must have a permission slip and covid-19 survey signed by a parent or guardian.

The Southington Land Trust's nature trail on Wedgewood Road has an area where water accumulates and cuts off accessibility. Placing the boardwalks in this area will allow hikers to enjoy the trail unimpeded.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.

Best Regards,

Mr. McPhee

Hello Scout Families-

I am sorry to have to break the bad news to you all, but the decision was made by the Council in PA to cancel their Boy Scout resident camp for this summer. This seems to be in line with numerous other Councils around the country. This decision was made in consultation with many different players keeping everyone's safety at the forefront of the decision. Mrs. O'Sullivan will be returning all payments made thus far to families. We had not made our payment yet, so this should take a minimal amount of time. We look forward to the time we can all join together again safely in person!

YIS,

Mrs. Hoffman

Who's out braving the showers tonight?

It is with great sadness that I must share that one of our dear leaders Harry Goralski has passed away. Harry was a long time member of Troop 32 who deeply committed to the boys and wanted nothing but watch them succeed and have bright futures. Scouting was a huge part of his life he greatly believed in. RIP Harry you will be greatly missed... Please keep the Goralski family in your thoughts and prayers.

We will forward any more updates we receive.
