Another year in the books. Scouts had a great showing this year, but the Scouters came out on top at the annual Scouts vs. Adults volleyball game.

We'll see everyone next week at the annual calendar planning meeting at the Southgate Community Center.

Had a great time learning about Revolutionary War history at the Battle of Blue Licks reenactment. The Battle of Blue Licks is the last in Kentucky and is considered the last major engagement of the Revolutionary War. Ran in to many scouts and scouters that were part of the the volunteer reenactors.

Change is coming to renewal. All renewals are going to bases on February 2028. We will talk more t a future meeting.

📢 Scouting America Membership Renewal Changes Coming (2026–2028)

Scouting America is transitioning all unit and member renewals to a February renewal cycle to simplify the membership process and better align with recruiting season.

Key highlights:

✅ Unit renewals begin transitioning in September 2026.
✅ Individual member renewals transition throughout 2027 using prorated fees.
✅ By February 2028, all units and members will renew on the same annual February schedule.

The new system will create one consistent renewal season, reduce barriers for new members with prorated fees, eliminate the 2-month lapse period, align Safeguarding Youth Training with renewal dates, and give unit leaders more control over the renewal process.

The goal is to improve retention, make renewals easier, and strengthen membership growth across Scouting.

Right now, two of our scouts and one of our leaders are having a wonderful time at the National Jamboree in West Virginia. It looks like an amazing experience, and they captured some great moments with our scouts in action in the pictures.

This truly is a trip of a lifetime.

Camp Freilander delivered an extraordinary adventure, thanks to the remarkable staff who collaborated seamlessly with our scouts and empowered our leaders, fostering an unforgettable experience.

Our heartfelt appreciation extends to our scouts and leaders too for their invaluable contributions to making this week at camp truly unforgettable.

Another year in the books, and we could not be happier with the outcome. Average close to 7 MB per scout and one scout earned CAMPER rank in the CAMPCRAFTER guild.

Another outstanding day has unfolded here at camp. As we reach the midpoint of the week, most scouts are making significant progress toward completing their merit badges. Tonight's schedule features a mass, climbing and repelling exercises off the 50 footer, a campfire, and fellowship.
