Southfield MLK Task Force The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Task Force, Inc. of Southfield is an all volunteer organization who embraces the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday.

is an all-volunteer grassroots civic organization that was established in 1985 and received its incorporation status in 1992, and is comprised of local residents, private and public organizations and local government representatives. Its purpose is to communicate to others the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and convey the significance of celebrating the national Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The group also hosts numerous events throughout the year that promote community engagement, social advocacy and youth mentoring.
