Any opportunity to mentor young peopleā¦count me in! šš
I had the pleasure of being a mentor in the State Bar of Michiganās Face of Justice program at Pershing High School in Detroit, Michigan, which is in the neighborhood I grew up in. So it was quite the full circle moment!
The programās primary focus is a ājet-mentoringā component designed to give high school students the
opportunity to interact with a variety of legal professionals. Students get a few minutes with the attorneys, judges, and law enforcement officials in attendance to ask questions, hear about why people choose particular paths, and the preparation needed to pursue a career in the law.
