Meet Sharon — 🎨✨

Sharon is incredibly artistic and loves expressing herself through creativity. Whether she’s working on decorating intake folders for new members, making get well/thank you/birthday cards or sharing ideas her passion for art shines through in everything she does.

One of Sharon’s favorite parts of coming to the clubhouse is the opportunity to socialize and connect with others. She enjoys spending time with fellow members.

Sharon is also a member tutor at the clubhouse. She enjoys helping and encouraging others, sharing her knowledge, and supporting fellow members in their growth and success. Her kindness, patience, and willingness to help make a meaningful impact on those around her.

The clubhouse gives Sharon a space to be herself, build friendships, and continue growing her confidence through creativity. We are so grateful for the positivity and artistic spirit she brings to our clubhouse every day. 💙 MemberSpotlight

The Culinary Unit was busy today. Personal pan pizzas for lunch with fruit cups. After lunch we used some donated produce to make apple crisp and banana bread. The club was full of all the good smells. Thank you for all of your hard work to make sure we have delicious meals at Clubhouse!

Member Tip Tuesday- Janice says going for a walk each day especially outside really makes a difference. She walks each day after lunch outside or inside if the weather is bad.

A short daily walk- especially outdoors- can help reduce stress, anxiety and even mild depression. This is partly because walking encourages the release of endorphins and lowers levels of cortisol, the stress hormone.

Today is World Semicolon Day! It's a day to raise awareness for mental health, su***de prevention, and addiction recovery. Using the symbol ";", it signifies that a story (or life) continues rather than ends, encouraging strength for those struggling with mental health issues.

People get tattoos, temporary or permanent, may wear shirts, create signs or various other methods to spread awareness and remind themselves and others that there is more to their story!

If you or a loved one is struggling and need someone to speak to you can call 988 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and find someone who can help.

Special thanks to Constance from River Raisin Clubhouse for this post idea!

Last week our employment specialist took some members to a job fair at the Raddison hotel in Southfield. They were able to give out resumes and apply for jobs. Pictured below is the list of employers who were at the job fair and some of the goodies that were giving away.
