Spread the word ... the A Better Chance 2018-19 application is now live!

Our mission is to increase substantially the number of well-educated young people of color who are capable of assuming positions of responsibility and leadership in American society. We carry out our mission through our signature College Preparatory Schools Program, which annually recruits, refers and supports about 500 A Better Chance Scholars at more than 300 of the nation’s leading boarding, day and public schools.

If you know a talented student of color currently in school grades 4 - 9 who could use a A Better Chance, send them our way!

Students selected for referral usually:

*Consistently perform at or above grade level in math and English
*Have an overall academic average of a B+ or better
*Rank in the top ten percent of their class
*Participate in extracurricular activities both within and outside of the school community
*Demonstrate leadership potential either in school or through activities outside of school
*Receive good teacher recommendations
*Are of upstanding character
