Filamcco and Eastern Michigan University Launch Breast Cancer Screening Philippines Project (FBCSPP) in Alignment with Filipino American History Month.
Southfield, MI โ The Filipino American Community Council of Michigan (Filamcco), in partnership with Eastern Michigan University โ Center for Health Disparities Innovations and Studies (CHDIS), proudly announces the launch of the Breast Cancer Screening Philippines Project (FBCSPP). This initiative, launched in alignment with Filipino American History Month of October, highlights the Filipino American communityโs commitment to health, education, and advocacy both in the United States and the Philippines.
The Philippines currently faces the highest breast cancer mortality rate in Southeast Asia, with thousands of women losing their lives each year due to late detection and limited access to screening. The FBCSPP aims to address this urgent health disparity by providing:

Training programs for healthcare workers and community leaders

Educational workshops to raise awareness about early detection

Funding support to strengthen in the Philippines breast cancer screening initiatives

This event will bring together community leaders, healthcare professionals, and advocates to unite in the fight against breast cancer and to empower Filipino challenged communities with the tools and knowledge needed to save lives.
