Since its founding in 1982, Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings (DCWS) has set the standard for chamber music in Detroit. By bringing together the top musicians from the metro area, most of whom are members of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and Michigan Opera Theatre.

Born and bred in the heart of Detroit, the Detroit Repertory Theatre welcomes audiences for performances that reflect the city’s creativity, diversity, and commitment to community.

Founded in 1957, the Detroit Repertory Theatre is Michigan’s oldest alternative professional theatre and a longtime cultural anchor in the city. For nearly seven decades, it has been known for producing thoughtful, socially relevant theatre while bringing people together through the arts.

We’re excited to introduce the Mirrored Glass Harp Trio, the featured ensemble for our upcoming Rhythm & Texture concert at the Detroit Repertory Theatre.

Originating from the vibrant heart of Detroit and building on the legacy of Black harpists from the city, the Mirrored Glass Harp Trio is expanding what audiences expect from a harp ensemble. Their performances blend classical traditions with influences from neo-soul, jazz, blues, and world music, creating a sound that is both familiar and refreshingly new.

Part of Mirrored Glass, Inc: Ensembles for the Collaborative Arts, the trio is connected to a national nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to the arts through interdisciplinary collaboration, education, and community engagement.

Through a wide range of techniques and creative approaches, the ensemble focuses on rhythm, texture, and collaboration, bringing a distinctive voice to contemporary chamber music.

Hosted in Birmingham’s Hagopian World of Rugs, the Nightnotes series transports you to a cozy and casual atmosphere to enjoy live chamber music. Each Nightnotes concert is curated by the performing artists, so you'll get to hear the artists talk about and play the music they enjoy the most.

The full Nightnotes experience features a pre-concert reception, an engaging and conversational performance, and the opportunity to mingle with the artists after the concert.
