Sergeant Tyler Vargas-Andrews of Folsom California, was struck by the IED blast at the Kabul Airport in Afghanistan on August 26th, 2021. Currently his wounds are extensive and will alter the course of his life forever. As of now, he is stable. As of now, there shouldn’t be any further taking of his limbs or body to ensure his survival. Sergeant Vargas-Andrews is a warrior. He’s our brother. He’s a son. He’s a United States Marine that willingly almost paid the ultimate sacrifice so that others too may have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

In compliance with the GoFund me policies I am required to place the following information.

1. Who you are and where you are from:

My name is Charles Schilling and I am from Port Angeles, Washington.

2. Your relationship to the parties you're raising funds for:

-I serve as the Team Leader for Sergeant Vargas-Andrews Scout Sniper Team for the duration of his deployment to the Middle East, and while in Afghanistan.

3. Your plan to send the funds to the intended recipients, and their names:

-My plan is to send all funds to Sergeant Vargas-Andrews’s mother, Tiffany, and giver her direct control of all funds.

4. How the funds will be spent (be specific as possible):

-These funds will be used for any medical expenses that are extensive and not covered by the US military, any lodging or logistical requirements for Tyler and his family for the duration of his healing process, for the best rehabilitation and prosthetics we can get him, and for the over all care of him and his families in any monitory fashion.

We humbly ask, that you may help to donate any small amount of money for Sergeant Vargas-Andrews. This money will be used for him and his family so that they all will have the utmost support possible, and hopefully with your help, carry no burden of the financial cost. It should quite literally be the last thing any of them worry about.

We take care of our own. This also means their families. Again any small amount helps.

Thank you

To all my family and friends as you all know Rhys has been battling brain cancer for a little over one year, and although the fight isn’t over we’ve just been made aware that the cancer is back and aggressive. Unfortunately there is no further treatment or surgery available for him, he will be transferred to hospice. That being said that doesn’t mean it has won because we all know that God will continue to prevail and heal Rhys but now our sister is facing more hurdles financially to continue to help Rhys fight and of course not alone. Nikki has not been able to work during this time although it has become quite a financial hardship I would like to alleviate some of that burden by asking you all to please help and find it in your hearts to assist our sister in allowing her to not have to worry about finances now and just cherish the time she has left with our amazing nephew; her son. She shouldn’t have to focus on anything but her son during this transition and make it as peaceful as possible. Please donate whatever you can as no amount is ever too little or small. Also, if you can’t donate please SHARE so that everyone can get the opportunity to know about Rhys’ story and ultimately join our power of prayer for the ultimate goal; healing! Thank you so much for all your help and prayers. God will heal Rhys! We will never stop fighting. We will keep you updated on his condition. We appreciate all the support Love Always,

Marlyn, Robert and Merlyn.

Meet Karim Pina....a lovable, intelligent, fun and laid back teen battling Mitochindrial disease and Eosinophilic Gastroenterititis.

This past week, one of my favorite cousins, Karina, received terrible news regarding her son Karim. At the age of 10, he was diagnosed with an extremely rare digestive disease called eosinophilic gastroenteritis in which only 8/100,000 are diagnosed each year. Six years ago when he turned 13 he was also diagnosed with MELAS, a rapidly progressive and terminal disease for which there is no cure. She's been working with his medical professional team to at least manage his excruciating neuropathic pain after having 5 strokes. For the past 6 months he's been in ICU at UCSF being treated to no avail. His HCP has now recommended hospice. His mother hopes as a final resort to find a provider who specializes in MELAS syndrome, neuropathic pain and gene editing. His mother as you can imagine is completely devastated. Karim is her first born and she has been his primary support since birth.

After hearing the news about Karim, I immediately wanted to help in any way that I could. I've been given permission to share Karim's condition, and have created this GoFundMe to help alleviate some of the medical costs that are already being incurred, along with any other expenses as a result of the disease.

Karina is such a sweet, supportive and loving mother who has been there for me and my daughter during some of her most difficult times. She cared for my daughter Aujinel when she suffered from seizures as a child. She opened up her home to Auj so that she could attend USF college to eliminate the worries of commuting. When she recently learned of Aujinel's pregnancy, she immediately had a brand new crib delivered for my Grandson Amiren. These are only a few examples of how supportive she's been to the both of us; so it is without hesitation that I help lift some of the burden off of her shoulders.

Above all, I would ask that you please keep my family in your prayers. This disease is rapidly progressive and the months ahead will be some of the most difficult faced. If you feel led to donate, I can assure that all proceeds will go directly toward covering any cost associated with the disease. Thank you in advance for your prayers and consideration.

Here’s Harper!

A courageous, tough, sweet and sassy cutie that’s one in 7 billion!!! Harper has a rare bone disease that creates lesions in her bones which makes her prone to broken bones. She’s had multiple fractures or breaks since the discovery of these lesions. These breaks have included surgeries, have required hardware to be placed, and half body casts. And now-another obstacle for her to tackle, brain surgery. Harper’s bone disease has caused all the sutures in her skull to fuse causing increased pressure in her head since there’s no room for her brain to grow! To have all the sutures close on a child of Harper’s age is very rare. The pressure is causing multiple symptoms, including a chronic stuffy nose, pressure behind her eyes, headaches, papilledema (swelling of her optic nerves) and more, so it’s important for her to get her surgery right away. Surgery is scheduled for July 9 in California, where Harper will stay for approximately a month before being able to return home. The surgery will include cutting her skull open from one side of her head to the other in order to open sutures. Then in October, she will head back to CA to get the hardware removed. While Harper’s family hopes to utilize resources like Ronald McDonald House, there are still needs that are arising, and if you feel compelled, please donate to her in order to help with things like meals, travel, lodging, unpaid leave from work during surgery and recovery, and growing medical expenses. Prayers for Harper and her family are always appreciated.

Hello Everybody,

As many of you all know Alaina Jae was born 6/9/21 at 8:03am but we had one little issue. Alaina did not cry, nor was she breathing. Immediately she was intubated and taken to the NICU. After a few hours Doctors decided it was best for her to be flown to Driscoll in C.C. for better professional care.

As of 6/9/21 at 2:30pm Doctors are still unsure why she wasn't breathing/convulsions. Possible brain trauma...but no explanation as to how. They will be putting her on a cold bed for 3 days and slowly warming her up to protect her precious little brain. These next few days will consist of lots of exams to try and figure out what could have caused all of this.

**On a happy note she has increased her movements all on her own.

All this will be taking some time to figure out what exactly happened. As per Doctors this could possibly be up to 2 weeks but we aren't sure yet.

Funds will be used for to help with Misc Expenses and Housing while in C.C.

With all this being said...please find it in your heart to help out Selikah and Adrian while they go through these unpredicted times. Hopefully all will be well.

Thank you,

Saavedra/Garcia Fam

https://gofund.me/f96e5e8a
In Oct 2017 at the age of 27 my husband, Lex Wilbanks was diagnosed with stage III Nasopharynx cancer. He went through very aggressive treatment, 33 rounds of radiation and 6 chemo treatments. Not long after, in November 2017 his father also found out he had cancer. Two of the strongest men that I've ever met in my life fighting cancer together. Unfortunately, we lost his father January 2018.

During Lex's treatment he lost close to 50 pounds, experienced hair loss, fatigue, nausea, mouth blisters, dehydration, ringing in the ears, neuropathy and more. At times his white blood count and red blood count was too low that chemo had to be delayed due to risk of infection. He was unable to receive his last scheduled chemo treatment because he was close to needing a feeding tube and had to receive IV fluids everyday after treatment was over for a month. On December 31, 2018 a CT scan showed no signs of a tumor, and my husband was cancer free for about two years.

In April of 2020 a routine scan showed the cancer was back, and now in his lungs. He received radiation on his lungs and started immunotherapy. After about a year on immunotherapy, scans reveled the cancer spread, yet again. This time to his lower backbone/hip area and liver. From January 2021 to March 2021 he started experiencing excruciating headaches and couldn't get relief; scans reveled our worst fear, the cancer was now in his brain. My husband received 10 full brain radiation treatments and halfway through his brain radiation his brain started swelling due to the radiation therapy and growth in the tumors so he had to be hospitalized to get a brain shunt for relief.

I'm currently typing this while sitting in the hospital with my husband, my rock, on the day he was scheduled to start a rare tumor trial. On the evening of June 4th 2021 I brought Lex to the emergency room because he wouldn't eat, he couldn't take his medication, and he wasn't making sense when he would communicate with me. While here they've ruled out an infection being the cause of his confusion. They're giving him 4 different antibiotics, IV fluids, iron, blood and several other things to try to regulate his levels hoping that it is the cause of his mental state.

Lex is the strongest man I've ever met. Throughout all of his trials he's continued to put everyone else first, he was still working, still going to our children's football and softball games and practices. He leaves a mark with everyone he meets and he goes above and beyond to help others. Even here in the hospital he's asks the nurses how he can help them. As soon as he found out I was researching alternative treatment options he tried getting up to "help me, help him". Lex is a man who lives his life around myself and our kids. He loves his family and he's the life of the party everywhere he goes. My husband deserves nothing short of the best treatment and quality of life as possible and it's now my personal mission to take care of him. With the help of our family, friends and GOD I know nothing is impossible. I've witnessed miracles with my own eyes and I know GOD will reveal his glory.

With the money raised I plan to get Lex the treatment he deserves at MD Anderson in Houston as soon as he's healthy enough to travel. If you find it in your heart to donate any amount to this cause you will be helping so many people who care and love him, most importantly our daughter(11yo) and our son (9yo) who need their daddy to be healthy to walk them down the aisle, to watch them graduate high school, and to instill things that only a daddy can.

It pains me to type this...

My beautiful girlfriend, Jillian Schlueter, has been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer at the age of 26.

Jillian is the type of person that lights up the room as soon as she walks in. Her smile is contagious and her positive energy flows throughout. She is a free-spirit and the sunshine you need on a cloudy day.

This wonderful young woman is a caregiver by nature. She is always putting her family and friends first, comforting them during hard times, and truly blessing all of us with her positive outlook on life. Jillian would care for every person (and animal) in the world if she could, that’s just the type of person she is. She is a superhero.

Last week, Jillian completed nursing school at Rutgers University, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her family and close friends witnessed the hard work, dedication, and time she spent each day studying and mastering the art of nursing.

Recently, she told me: “I have a strong purpose in this life, I’m not done yet... I have countless patients to take care of. But first, I need to be my own patient. Having cancer will make me a stronger Nurse, and I will understand what it’s truly like to be a patient.”

Jillian is heartbroken that she has to postpone her dream of getting a job as a RN. She understands her main priority is battling stage 3 breast cancer. Despite the hardship, she has already set her mind to continue studying for the NCLEX (State Boards Exam for RN’s). This shows her strength and determination.

It is going to be a long and difficult journey. She will be going through 6 months of aggressive chemotherapy sessions, as well as radiation. In addition, she will be undergoing a bilateral mastectomy, removal of her malignant lymph nodes, and starting a 5-10 year medication regimen. Not to mention, the countless doctors appointments and tests that have already begun (MRI’s, CT scans, bone scans, ultrasounds, and bloodwork). But, with the support from all of you, I know she can defeat this horrible disease. Jillian is a badass, a go-getter, someone you want in your corner because you know she’ll be there for you.

We are asking for your help during this gut-wrenching time. Life will be taking an extreme turn for our family and close friends. Medical bills will begin to pile up and we need to act quickly as her form of breast cancer is very aggressive.

Jillian and I want to have a family of our own one day. But, we cannot do that without the fertility part of this process. The fertility (egg harvesting) is not covered by insurance and will cost over $20,000. This 26 year old young woman is being told she cannot have children without this process. The chemotherapy will cause permeant damage to her ovaries. The only way that we can have a family one day is if we harvest her eggs now, before chemotherapy begins.

I wish I could take this pain away from her. If you cannot donate at this time, you can help by sharing this link. Please pray for Jillian, our family, and friends.

She is a fighter, and she will win.

We love you all. Thank you.

https://gofund.me/5f8d7d68
Hello Everyone,

You may or may not know about Aurora’s battle with cancer. Aurora is a wife, mother, sister, daughter and beloved friend to many. Earlier this year Aurora was noticing digestion issues and trouble with swallowing which prompted her to go to the doctor. Her doctor ordered an endoscopy and immediately referred Aurora to see an oncologist. Initially Aurora was diagnosed with gastric cancer on February 18, 2021. Aurora immediately started chemotherapy. The plan of treatment was to complete 4 rounds of chemotherapy and then to have a CT scan to see if surgery was possible to remove the cancer from her stomach.

After Aurora completed her first 4 rounds of chemo the CT scan revealed that the cancer most likely involved the ovaries as well. Aurora was immediately scheduled for surgery to remove both ovaries. After surgery the oncologist informed Aurora that her ovaries did have cancer and she was diagnosed with stage 4 Krukenberg Cancer. Krukenburg Tumors are uncommon, accounting for 1%-2% of all ovarian tumors. The stomach is the primary site for most (70%) cases of Krukenberg tumors. Aurora’s future plan of treatment is to have chemotherapy every 3 weeks and to have a CT scan completed every 3 months for as long as her body can tolerate it.

Aurora is married to James and they have two beautiful children. A daughter Allison who is 9 years old and a son Andrew who is 13 years old. Aurora worked as a Resident Care Assistant before her cancer diagnosis. She loved her job and did it well. The resident’s and her co-workers always enjoyed working with her. Her kindness and compassion was evident for the residents she cared for especially during the season of COVID 19. She had a wonderful work ethic and always had a smile on her face. Aurora’s other passion is photography. She has touched many lives with her photographs and has a wonderful talent for taking family portraits. She has even taken my son’s graduation pictures.

Aurora’s husband James is a truck driver and since Aurora’s diagnosis he has used nearly all his vacation days (PTO) at work to spend time with Aurora and going to doctor appointments with her. Aurora has medical insurance through her husband, but not all the medical bills are covered and they are piling up quickly, not to mention Aurora’s loss of income during this time of treatment. James parents have been a tremendous support during this time as well, but additional help is needed now.

Aurora also would like to travel to other states/cities to get a different and 2nd opinions of her diagnosis, but lack of funds is preventing her from doing this.

Lastly, Aurora is originally from Panama. Her four siblings and her mother live there. She would love to fly to Panama to see them and create memories with them if her time is limited. Her one sister just flew in this past week and has also been a tremendous support to her during this time. The rest of the family is unable to come to the United States at this time. Aurora’s wish is to get to Panama in between chemotherapy treatments and to spend time with her family who she hasn’t seen since 2019.

Aurora and her family need our help now more than ever and this is an opportunity to do just that. Aurora is not one to ask for help but is so deserving of this financial relief that we can bring her and her family. It’s our hope to achieve this goal of decreasing their financial burden and ease the stress of medical bills, household bills, allow Aurora to seek a 2nd opinion, and lastly making Auroras wish come true to go to Panama to visit her family. We also would like for James to be able to take off work to be able to spend precious time with Aurora and their 2 children during this time (as needed) and not to worry about keeping a roof over their head.

No donation is too small!! Together large amounts of people can do amazing things to show our love and support for this amazing woman and her family. However, if you cannot financially contribute you can help in two different ways. 1) Share this page with everyone you know, family, friends, co-workers, and local churches. 2) Lift Aurora and her family up in prayer. We need prayer warriors now more than ever to pray for healing and for God to touch Aurora’s life. Also pray for God to give them peace during this difficult time. I would like to thank everyone for considering to help Aurora and her family during this time of need.

We are reaching out to you to help the family of the late John Graves. As you may know, John was diagnosed with the brain cancer Glioblastoma, in late January of this year. After a brief and hard-fought battle John passed away on March 23, 2021. Anyone that knew John knows that he was one of the most passionate, hardworking, and dedicated people known in our circles of friends and associates. There was nothing that John would not do to help someone. One thing that was always clear is that his family meant everything to him!

After John passed, John’s wife Kelly, and 24-year-old daughter Lauran, decided to undergo medical checkups before John’s insurance ended. During Lauran’s checkup, there was an abdominal mass found that engulfed her spleen and left kidney. After further testing Lauran was diagnosed with Liposarcoma, which like her dad’s, is a rare cancer. She now has a fight of her own! We do not want her to fight alone so soon after losing her dad and his income stream.

Lauran is currently undergoing treatment at the Cleveland Clinic. She and her mom are staying nearby, at dormitories purposed for long term patient care. Over the next five weeks Lauran will be receiving radiation treatments. After the radiation treatment is complete there will be a 4-5 week pause before Lauran will go back into the hospital to surgically have the mass removed. This surgery will include removing her left kidney and spleen.

As most of us can understand, the combination of the loss of John’s income and Kelly’s time away from work, will put money pressures on the family. We hope to raise enough money to help the family through the dual tragedies of John’s death and Lauran’s battle. All donations will go directly to Lauran and her mom Kelly, to help with the medical costs, travel and any other expenses that will accrue.

Within the last 6 months this family has had their lives turned upside down. Please consider helping Lauran and her family through this battle. It is in times like these that we, as a group, can really make a difference in someone’s life. We can help a family get through their struggles that no family should ever need deal with.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. The family will appreciate any support that can be given.

We are reaching out to you to help the family of the late John Graves. As you may know, John… Rich Perry needs your support for Help the Family of John Graves
