We are fortunate to such great support from the Sturgis family and other donors like them. It is only because of our donors that we have achieved so much. We depend on 100% private donations.

We are honored by the support of volunteer couriers who deliver human cornea bio-implants to Ukraine. Olga is on the way with eight more tissues destined for Kyiv. She is supported by a team of volunteers and others who make sure the tissues reach their destination quickly and with great care.

Nothing happens without a team here in Ukraine. If anyone says they are doing it alone, they are lying. I am honored to have the support of so many individuals and organizations both in Ukraine and around the world. This article is a perfect example. In 2025 a prominent Ukrainian surgeon, Vasyl Shevchyk, spoke at the ASCRS conference in California about the need for ballistic glasses in Ukraine. This resulted in a partnership between Eye Care For Ukraine and the Eye foundation. The resulting benefit was providing ballistic eyewear to first responders and medics in the hardest hit areas of Ukraine, which continues to this day. As a side note, the hotel in which the BBH Eye Foundation stayed when working here was badly damaged by the Russian attack last night.

Thanks to everyone for your continued support. This The European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) article is about what happens when we all work together.

ESCRS seeks to promote and support research in the field of intraocular lens implantation and refractive surgery and the dissemination of the useful results thereof. ESCRS has over 7,000 members from 130 countries world-wide.

We are honored by the support of the Robert and Judith Sturgis Family Foundation, Eversight and physicians across Ukraine for this program.

While immediate needs for corneal tissue and surgeons in Ukraine is high, long-term solutions remain a central focus. In collaboration with Eye Care For Ukraine, Eversight is working toward the development of an ethical, sustainable eye banking system.

This groundwork will enable the launch of a fully operational eye bank—bringing Ukraine closer to self-sufficiency in corneal transplantation.
