MY National Day of Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank you for this day, the National Day of Prayer. Some days we may wake up to the sunshine, the rain, the snow, and the blowing wind. Regardless of the condition of the day, we want to thank you for allowing us to open our eyes, and our hearts are still beating. You did not have to do it, but you did. Lord, I thank you.
Now, Father, I trust you to order our steps and the steps of our leaders of this nation. Father, I come to you with an open heart on behalf of our Nation. There is so much chaos in this world today. I am concerned about our nation and the direction it is headed.
In your word, 2 Chronicles 7:14 tells us, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Father, I pray today for your guidance and wisdom for our leaders and the people of this world. So that we will not get bent out of shape and become fearful and anxious.
In your word, Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Father, I realize that your word is true. In the 24th chapter of Matthew, the disciples asked Jesus about the sign of his coming and the end of the world. Jesus told them; we will hear of wars and rumors of wars, nations will rise against nations, kingdom against kingdom, there will be famines, earthquakes in different places, many shall betray one another, hate one another, false prophets shall arise and deceive many, love of many will wax cold.
Jesus also said, “See that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.” He also said, “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Now, Father, I pray that our nation and the people of this world will repent and turn to you. With faith and trust in you, I thank you for the guidance, wisdom, strength, courage, and patience you will give us to hold on until the return of your son, Jesus.
In your son Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
