Snow, teamwork, and a lot of firsts.

Troop 1G took on Sugar Mountain Resort this February—all the girls hit the slopes for the very first time and every single one showed grit.

They planned, packed, encouraged each other, and stuck with it (even after a few wipeouts). By the end of the trip, we had more confidence, stronger friendships, and a group of girls proud of what they accomplished.

This is exactly what our troop is about. Trying new things, learning real skills, and growing into capable leaders.

Troop 1G hit the trail at Camp Durant for their mini backpacking trip! They tested their gear, practiced cooking on the trail, and even sharpened their orienteering skills.

The best part? They did it together. 💪
Scouts encouraged each other, shared laughs around camp, and learned what works (and what doesn’t!) before tackling the longer backpacking trip ahead.

Trips like this are what Scouting is all about. Building confidence, trying new things, and growing as a team while having a whole lot of fun.

🚀 Adventure. Skills. Friendships that last a lifetime.

We spent a long weekend camping at Sam Hatcher near the Emerald Isles where we explored Fort Macon, watched fireworks over the beach, and played endless games together by the ocean.

But it wasn’t just fun. The scouts had plenty of time to practice real scouting skills: setting up camp, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership. These are the experiences that build confidence and independence while giving kids memories they’ll never forget.

Parents often ask what Scouting is really like, this is it. A safe place for your child to grow, explore, and discover what they’re capable of 💪.

🏁 Troop 1 hit the fast lane this weekend! 🏁

Our scouts swapped hiking boots for the roar of engines at Darlington Raceway’s Scout Weekend and it was an unforgettable ride! 🚗💨

The scouts got to help kick off the NASCAR Playoffs and it was an adventure totally out of their normal element. From walking out road to feeling the rumble of the engines in the stands, our scouts learned that trying new things is what scouting is all about.

Here’s to new friends, new experiences, and memories that last way longer than a checkered flag! 🏆

Our troop leveled up their adventure skills! We had the honor of learning orienteering basics from our council commissioner, who came out to guide us as we gear up for our upcoming backpacking trip.

The scouts practiced reading maps, using a compass, and building confidence in their navigation skills—all essential as they prepare for the 1-mile orienteering challenge on the trail.

A huge thank you to our commissioner for sharing both knowledge and encouragement. Moments like these remind us that scouting is all about growing, learning, and pushing past limits—together. 💚

We came. We dug. We got muddy—and we loved it at Emerald Hollow Mine!

The scouts got to sluice, dig, and pan in the creek—and found all kinds of treasures while working on their Geology Merit Badge. They learned about minerals, got muddy in the best way, and had a blast being outdoors together.

This trip had it all: learning, teamwork, and some serious fun. It’s always amazing to see how much confidence and curiosity scouting brings out in these girls.

Definitely a trip to remember! Big thanks to for the amazing tour and helping us with our merit badge!

Last night, we had the honor of welcoming a new scout into Troop 1G as she crossed over from Cub Scouts after earning her Arrow of Light Award—the highest rank in Cub Scouting! 🏹✨

The crossover ceremony marks a scout’s transition into the next exciting chapter of their journey, where they’ll develop new skills, take on bigger adventures, and build lifelong friendships. We’re so excited to have her join our all-girls troop and can’t wait to see all she accomplishes!

Our scouts took winter fun to the next level with an exciting snow tubing trip! ❄️ From racing down the slopes to cooking their own meals at camp, they embraced the challenge, teamwork, and fun that scouting is all about.

Cooking at camp is more than just a meal—it’s learning independence, responsibility, and resilience (plus, food just tastes better outdoors!) We love seeing these scouts grow in confidence and skill with every adventure.
