Through support groups, support parents, and parent education programs, the organization provides families the opportunity by which to meet other families and professionals in the community, thereby affording them the ability to develop a network of support

based on their individual needs. Governed by parents and professionals of individuals with autism, the Autism Society of North Carolina, Moore County Chapter remains family-driven.

An Autistic Perspective Series: Communication: An AAC Users Perspective, June 30, 2023. 12:00-1:15 pm EST via Zoom. Free registration. Autism Support and Advocacy Center in partnership with ImpAACt Voices. Below is a memo from DPI regarding upcoming public forums to clarify and discuss the proposed changes in the procedures used by the Exceptional Children Department for the evaluation and assessment of students with ASD. Our regional meeting details are listed below. However, the chart of statewide meetings is also attached in case you are traveling, and will be closer to a different meeting. Additionally, a voice-over PowerPoint will be made available on the Exceptional Children Division website, after the last forum is held on July 25th.
