Southern Junction VFD

Southern Junction VFD We are a community volunteer fire department, located in Houston County Alabama. Community wide people are welcome to join.

We have meetings every 2nd and 4th Monday night at 630 pm. Located on Hwy 109 just before you get to Junction rd and Hwy 109 intersection.

Wildland firefighters and support personnel serve in many different roles, in every corner of the country, but they are united by a common purpose: protecting lives, communities, and natural resources.

On this National Wildland Firefighter Day, we recognize the professionalism, dedication, and courage of the entire wildland fire community.

We also pause to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice and remember the families, friends, and coworkers who carry that loss forward.

Today is a day of recognition, reflection, and gratitude.

13 years ago today, 19 members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting the community of Yarnell during the Yarnell Hill Fire.

Their courage, selflessness, and commitment to serving others continue to inspire firefighters across Arizona and beyond. While the years pass, their legacy never fades.

Today, we pause to remember their lives, honor their sacrifice, and keep their families, friends, and fellow firefighters in our thoughts.

Gone, but never forgotten.
