Southbury Women's Club's Operation Backpack annually provides school supplies for the children of needy Southbury families via Southbury Social Services, funded by generous community grants and donors. From pencils to scientific calculators, they are able to assist these families to ensure their children start the year off ready to succeed.

Wednesday 9:30am – 5:30pm
Thursday 9:30am – 9:00pm

A large Bermuda High is forecast to become anchored off the East Coast this week. Heat and humidity are expected to push into New England as a very hot air mass circulates up the East Coast. Bermuda Highs are common during the summer; however, this high is forecast to bring near-record heat and humidity into our area this week.

Extreme Heat Warnings and air quality alerts have been issued for most of Connecticut.

The Town of Southbury is hiring a per diem Minibus Driver in the Senior Services Department. This position is responsible for driving 12 passenger buses to take seniors to appointments in Southbury, Danbury, Waterbury, other surrounding areas and on occasional trips.
