Looking for a fun and easy DIY project? Follow the steps below to learn how to make a birdfeeder at home!
On Saturday, October 10th, we tabled at the 27th Annual Celebration of the Long Pond Greenbelt at the South Fork Natural History Museum where guests were able to make their own birdfeeders.
Materials needed: string, pinecone, sunbutter or peanut butter, butter knife, plate, and bird feed.
1. Weave the ribbon at the wider end of the pinecone and tie together to make a loop to hang.
2. Cover the pinecone with a thin layer of sunbutter (or peanut butter) using your butter knife.
3. Place some bird feed on a plate or dish and roll your coated pinecone until the pinecone is covered with enough bird feed.
4. Hang on a tree and let the birds enjoy!
