The inaugural evening of our on-the-water adult sailing was compromised by steady winds, averaging 15 knots and gusts exceeding 20, prompting John and Andrew to provide instruction on tying knots like the bowline and cleat hitch. A lively Fire and Ice was enjoyed on the deck. 🌊🚣‍♂️💨🔥❄️

The BRYC's Trivia Night event, which aimed to raise funds for a new Rhodes, was an enjoyable occasion. The BRASS hosts presented the crowd with challenging questions on topics, including sailboat racing, windmills, and Kennedys. Prizes were plentiful! Food was great. It was a pleasant evening for all. Many thanks to those who made the event such a success.

More from Saturdays Relay Race!

🏁🔥 What an exhilarating day at the Capri relay race last Saturday! A massive shoutout to the BRYC race committee for their phenomenal support! 📸 Check out these action-packed shots captured by Dana from the dock as three boats, each with different skippers and crew, took to the water.

After an epic race, we tucked the Capris away for winter, but the fun didn’t stop there! 🍽️ We celebrated with a delicious lunch and showered our incredible race committee with heartfelt thank you gifts for making over 22 thrilling races possible this year! 🎉⛵️

Can’t wait for the adventures that next season will bring! Let’s keep the spirit of sailing alive! 🌊✨

BRYC’s 2025 Adult Social Sailing sailing season ended with its annual relay race this past Saturday. Beautiful weather conditions lent to a competitive morning of racing with mentors manning the Capri 14 jibs and the students handling the tiller and main sheet management. The race started with the students rigging of the boats at the BRYC dock. The first teams headed off the dock to complete the D2 race between buoys 18 and 20 before returning to the dock for the second heat of mentor- student team mates to jump onboard. The teams finished their race at BRYC beach where the teams' students de-rigged the boats as quickly as possible for the win. There was a great turn out both of sailors and spectators. A huge coordinated effort of members made quick work of tucking the Capris back onto the hill for their winter's rest. The event finished with a leisurely afternoon enjoying a BBQ lunch hosted by both BRASS and Race Committee. Thank you to all of the volunteers who made the day a great success.
