Veterans will tell you that in the horrors that war can bring, they will do their best to cling to at least one good memory. That's the power of a single picture.

Since before our nation's independence, Marine's have served as the premier expeditionary fighting force serving on land, in the air, and on the high sea. Guided by their core values of honor, courage, and commitment, America's sons and daughters in the Marine Corps deploy around the world during times of peace and war. Ever vigilant, Marines past and present eschew pride in their history and above all, accomplishing the mission. Established in 1775, the mission of the Marines has never failed in surpassing expectations to fight and win. As the Marines' Hymn goes, "From the Halls of Montezuma, To the shores of Tripoli, We fight our country's battles in the air on land and sea. First to fight for right and freedom, and to keep our honor clean, We are proud to claim the title of United States Marine." To all who have served and continue to serve our nation in the Marine Corps, thank you for your dedicated service to our country. Semper Fidelis.

All About Us

Chartered in 2017, The Abe E. Miller, Unit 133 of S. Windsor CT is a non-profit service organization that works to help local Veterans in need. What is the American Legion Auxiliary? We are largest women’s patriotic service organization in the world, which has served millions of hours to enhance the quality of life for veterans, military and their families. We advocate for veterans, educate our citizens, mentor youth, and promote patriotism, good citizenship, peace and security.

Our Unit takes time to visit with Veterans in local nursing homes as well as the Veterans Home in Rocky Hill. We collect gifts for the Christmas Shops program - helping Veterans to get holiday gifts for their loved ones while they are living in the Veterans home or hospital. We raise money through various fundraisers including a Walk-A-Thon in May and through generous donations during our Poppy Program. As our small unit grows we continue to find ways to raise money and help Veterans in need.
