The “sewin4servicemen” group’s next gathering is Saturday April 25th from 10 to 4 pm at First Congregational Church, 993 Main Street, South Windsor. We make wheelchair sized lap quilt for veterans. if you were sewer, just bring your machine with wound bobbins and a brown bag lunch everything else will be provided.

With Veterans Day coming soon, these two quilt blocks feel even more meaningful. The red, white, and blue colors with fireworks prints bring a sense of pride, gratitude, and warmth.

Our Feb. 28th, 2026 "sewin" held at First Congregational Church in South Windsor. Good Fellowship and lots of sewing etc.
Our next session is scheduled for March 28th at the church.

Our next “Sewin is scheduled for Saturday, March 28 at First Congregational Church South Windsor 993 Main St. in South Windsor from 10 to 4. Stories of all levels are invited to join us. Just have to bring your own sewing machine with pre-round bobbins and all the necessary accessories. 
if you don’t want to, so you can iron, you can help with the quilt sandwiches. All participants should bring a brown bag lunch refreshments will be provided along with the kits and batting for the quilts.
All sewing sessions are “free flowing“ meaning that you can come early stay late you can come late or leave early as your schedule warrants. You can even just stop by to pick up a kit and return the finish quilt for the next session.

Linda Stafford, of Pearisburg, dropped off backpacks today that are packed with stuffed animals, flashlights, bibles, and toys. These will be carried by deputies and given to children they come into contact with during a time of family crisis. Thank you for the kind gesture!

We begin our 13th year - hope you are not superstitious. Scheduled sessions: Sat., Feb 28th; Mar. 28th and April 25th
All sessions are held in our newly redecorated Fellowship Hall from 10 am -4 pm. The sessions are "free flowing" - you can come as early as 9 am and stay as long as you need; just come to drop off finished quilts and pick up another kit or two; or just stop in to check us out.
For the sewers - remember to bring your machine and all necessary accessories (cord, pedal, neutral thread, pre-wound bobbins, and manual). If you need a machine there are a few available, just let me know.
Kits will be supplied - material for top, bottom and binding directions and batting. Some kits will have the parts precut as required.
Beverages will be provided - just bring a "brown bag" lunch.
